Publisher's summary

Chance Powers —a professional illusionist — creates the greatest levitation illusion in history, then faces off against a jealous murderer and her eccentric husband.

In this third volume of the Chance Powers adventure series, Chance, his wife Stephanie, and his friend Narvel, must pit their skills as entertainers against an odd man’s fascination with Dracula, historical torture devices, the wiles of a selfish seductress, and a cold-blooded killer.

From the height of the famed Singapore aerial tramway to the bottom of the sea, then to the cold walls of a dungeon, they escape danger, overcome adversity, and mete out justice.

Written by a professional illusionist —based out of Branson, Missouri— the adventures of Chance and his gorgeous assistant, Stephanie Reynolds, and robust stage manager, Narvel White, stay within the realm of possibility. The amazing things they do truly could happen, and the techniques they use are based on things the author has personally experienced.

Packed with Action and Adventure

From the opening scene, there is plenty of action and adventure in Chance Powers and the Floating Lady, the third book in the Chance Powers adventure series by Duane Laflin, who brings his decades of experience as a magician and stage illusionist to his literary craft. In this latest book, Chance and his beautiful wife and performing partner Stephanie, and their friend and back-stage assistant Narvel, each face mortal peril at the hands of a husband and wife pair of psychopaths—one with a fascination for Dracula--and a murderous henchman. Set in exotic Singapore, the book involves breathtaking escapes in the air, at the bottom of the sea and in a dungeon filled with centuries-old torture devices. I listened to the book set at 1.2x speed and found the reader’s voice engaging and easy on the ear. I’m eagerly awaiting the next book in the series.
