About this listen

This audiobook is a deep look at racism in the United States and efforts to overcome this blight on its history.

Taking as its focus the years 1898 to1921, Champions of Oneness: Louis Gregory and His Shining Circle portrays the lives of a handful of brilliant pioneers of race amity in the United States (and internationally) who gave everything they could to promote the principle of the oneness of humanity. The thread common among each of their lives was the Baha'i faith. Many of them had the fortune of meeting 'Abdu'l-Baha, son of Baha'u'llah, the prophetic founder of the Baha'i faith. These pioneers of oneness would place 'Abdu'l-Baha's guidance and loving counsel at the center of their efforts for race amity.

At great personal sacrifice, these early Baha'is traveled extensively to share the teachings of their newfound faith and often were facing severe challenges from those who were resistant to change.

Great book .. a lot of mispronunciation!

Beautiful and comprehensive . Such important history to immortalize.. about the east and the west , and a new World Religion with a mission to bring unity between all the children of God .. I love to learn about the junctions of history.. but as a Persian American , was disappointed at the readers lack of knowledge of how to pronounce Mirza Abdu Fadl (pronounced as Fazl) or Mujtahid as Majohid !! I mean .. these 2 are examples because they are so central to the story but over and over again, it is butchered! I wish this could be changed in their honor and their contribution

Well written story about the the early work of the Bahá'ís to establish racial unity with intertwining stories.

I have read many stories about the early beleivers in the Bahá'í Faith. What makes this book interesting is how the author relates the challenges and the cooperation between many of the people that I have read about seperately. It gives a picture of the dynamics within the Bahá'í faith since its early introduction to the United States to work towards racial unity not just in the minds but hearts.

Beautiful and Moving

The author weaves together the lives of these early Baha'is, making them feel intimate to the reader. I was sad to come to the end and have to say goodbye to these new friends. So many details will remain with me always. Thank you for this work of love.
