Nothing will ever be the same again. Having successfully averted a mutiny and the near-discovery of the Exit Plan, the White Flower II's new captain is now in charge of fulfilling that plan to its end, and there's only a little more than a month to prepare. But there's a problem—Tesko doesn't want to deliver the terraformer to the pirates as agreed. She wants it for the geroo, and she will not take no for an answer. But it's not as simple as kicking the pirates out, as both crews need each other. For now.
The mistrust between the crews of the White Flower II and the Jet Black Sword are at an all-time high. Everyone, geroo and ringel alike, know that a war is coming. They smile at each other while holding daggers behind their backs. If that wasn't bad enough, there's still the Geordian Guard to deal with, as well as Commissioner Pokokuro who has this time come prepared.
And what's worse...Subcommander Gert is still in love with the ringel. Now begins the slow, inexorable countdown to the end of everything they know. Is it a new beginning—or is it the geroos' last gasp of hope?
