About this listen

Kimberla Lawson Roby tells the story of Tanya Black, an honest, faithful, independent woman who is struggling to come to terms with her failing marriage.

The Black household is swiftly deteriorating. Frustrated and angry at her prosperous preacher husband's obvious infidelities, Tanya cannot believe the man she once loved has been replaced by this pathological liar obsessed with material wealth. But Tanya loves their daughter, Alicia, and is reluctant to divorce Curtis - until a videotape surfaces that allows Tanya and Alicia a new chance at happiness.

Thrillingly Good

I was caught in shame, suspense, guilt & even laughter in reading this story. I caught myself talking to each of the characters which means it captured my attention. Loved this & applause to the writer for stepping out & creating this fun read. It reads like a soap opera which is still strong today in the reality dramas. Looking forward to more of this from this amazing writer. Kimberly you have what it takes! Thanks for bringing your A game!!!

What a captivating read/listen

Looking forward to this series. I found the characters relatable as one who has grown up in the church.

Worth Listening

Enjoyed had to listen twice over! Narrator great, held my attention. We all fall short of GOD's grace. Never repeat same sin over.

Wanted to continue listening, even though much of the content was predictable. Easy listening and good performances.

loved it

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is a fictitious rendering of exactly what can happen when we lose sight of life's blessings. these characters could be anyone. They are all so vivid. Explosive finish to a powder cake page Turner.
