Another well-written story from a very good author

Carnage in Cheyenne (Capital City Murders, #9), my twelfth read from author Troy Lambert. After reading Silenced in Salt Lake: Capital City Murders Book #11, my first read from author Troy Lambert, I wanted to read more in the series and this one doesn't disappoint. I was given an Audible copy of this book and am voluntarily reading & reviewing it. As always, Joseph L. Stevenson's narration adds to the book's enjoyment. I look forward to reading more in this series & from this author. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Carnage in Cheyenne Audiobook By Troy Lambert, St

Nick is on a 12 month assignment going from state to state capitols to take photos of interest. He's in Cheyenne to take photos of all things interesting. He meets many good people and being him is helpful to those who need his help. As he's reading the newspaper he finds a name he didn't think he'd ever hear again. It's the name of a fellow player from college. So sends an email and when he gets a response discovers that it isn't his old friend. But they meet to talk and he discovers a murder that occurred almost six months before.Nick asks if he can help since he's helped in other cities with other murders. Therein ensues a run into a mystery that slowly percolates in Nick's brain.
Joseph L. Stevenson makes a remarkable NIck.

Interesting Story Premise

I just finished the novella Carnage in Cheyenne: Capital City Murders Book #9. The premise for the series is intriguing and I look forward to each new book.

The protagonist Nick O'Flannigan is a freelance photographer and an amateur detective. Nick has a contract to take photos of the capitol buildings in each of the 50 US capital cities over a period of 50 weeks for Travel USA magazine. Several months prior to Nick’s arrival in Cheyenne, WY, an odd shooting took place in a bridal shop. Three models were killed on Halloween and the incident is currently a cold case. Nick assists the local detective in finding a resolution to the crime.

Another great listen

I have been enjoying listening to Nick's adventures as he completes his freelance job. He tends to find himself involved in a mystery to be solved. Can he stay out of trouble with his employer?

Nick finds himself looking at photos from a crime that happened earlier in the year.. Will Nick be able to find any clues.. Listen to his stories. I received a copy for an honest review.

Baskerville Book Reviews

Another decent mystery story from this series. It really pushed the taking pictures of the capital half of the plot to the side. I don’t think it’s possible to make Wyoming interesting and I think the writers knew that as well, so they didn’t try; opting to focus on an interesting mystery. The guilty party is easy to figure out, but it’s more about how Shaggy gets there than the who did it? aspect. He also talked about meeting Velma and Daphne in the next book, so that’ll be interesting.

As always, the narrator did a decent enough job. Though I’m never going to stop complaining about his inability to tell O and 0 apart. it’s extremely annoying.
