About this listen

In the middle of a three-w eek fishing trip, commercial fisherman Roberta (Bert) Coughlin rescues Alissa Cooper from her burning yacht and has no choice but to take the pampered rich girl along.

Alissa and Bert are from very different worlds. Bert struggles to succeed against the whims of Mother Nature. Alissa owns a successful advertising agency and is the epitome of high class and high fashion. When Alissa volunteers to help on the boat, Bert is more than a little surprised at how well she does.

The attraction between them grows, and one stormy night their pent-up desires crash together like the waves against the ship. When the ship returns to port, both women agree their lives are too different for anything other than their brief affair. They are simply too different. Their families are too different. Their lives too different. Their goals are too different. Then why do they keep coming back to each other?

What Colorful Language!

So... My Senior year of high school, my high school literature teacher, who was once had been a college professor, handed me William Golding's _The Color of Words_. I did exactly what she predicted. I focused so hard on the people and their interactions, studying them, finding their rhythm, that I forgot to blink. That is to say, Words are powerful. They are often contradictory or at one at odds... truth, when you have the opportunity, "paint her body like a canvas,". There are hidden gyms in the Words. I hope you enjoy the Words as much as I did.

Good but Something Off

The story was good and I enjoyed the narration except for one aspect. Sometimes the recording sounded like two different ones pushed together or starting and stopping. Just a little off on occasion. still good work though

Loved it!

What a great book! I listen to a lot of books and this one just had my attention the whole way through. Loved the writing style and the narrator. I hope to listen to more from this author and narrator.

How Had I Not Heard of This Book?

I've read a few Julie Cannon audiobooks before, but never noticed this title until the other day when I bought it. I really enjoyed the book a lot! the characters were both likeable, the dialogue between them was great, and I enjoyed the fact that they were stuck together on a big, tuna boat for weeks. the ending was a bit abrupt, but still, i have to say I'm sad the book is over. there were some weird narration moments (sound quality), but it didn't take away for my need to fly through this audiobook. if I could I'd give this book a 4.5 out of 5. thanks, Julie Cannon!

Aweful

The narration was rough, hard to hear like it was recorded cheaply, and sometimes a third voice would pop in to read one sentence. Tried through half of the book to get over this fact but it was impossible, eventually gave up. Don't recommend at all!
