It is unexpectedly good

It was a fun book. It was very relatable. Not your typical rom com. I love the narrator.

A little cheesy but cute

I listen to this in Audible and it is a little cheesy but entertaining. The narrator did a fantastic job!

Chaotic boy meets girl.

Liked the characters. Disliked the helpless female and nonsensical decisions. Hopefully Emma might mature in the next book.

Loved the story and the narrator did a fabulous job! I laughed so many times on my walk, and people most likely thought I was crazy! It’s a book for you when you want to get away from all the noises and ugly things that are happening in life. Thumbs up!

Typical fun

I enjoy Kinsella’s books, but after reading a few of them, I feel her lead characters are practically interchangeable. They’re all attractive young single females, predisposed to being kind, vulnerable, and a bit goofy. They all have difficulties in their careers and romantic relationships.

Fate, often with an assist from themselves, will drop them into a set of circumstances that will tumble comically out of control. And that’s why I enjoy Kinsella’s books; her deft creations of daffy situations and her protagonist’s responses.

In “Secret”, Emma, after several failed careers, is still grappling with her career. She’s mostly driven by wanting to impress her parents and surpass her conniving stepsister. Emma’s been dishonest with herself and others, but during a bout of severe turbulence on a plane, she spills a lifetime of secrets to a handsome stranger seated next to her. The stranger turns out to be the owner of the company she works for. His involvement with Emma triggers a falling of facades and a forced reevaluation of her self.

A Must Listen!

If you’ve not tried an audio book yet, THIS one on audio will have you hooked. Can You Keep a Secret, is a great audio book and was so much fun to listen to. The narrator so perfectly performed as Emma and I found myself frequently laughing out loud. It was an endearing story craftily written by Sophie Kinsella, that was brought to life by the excellent narration of Rebecca Humphries.

I wanted to like this so much

I want to like this book as I have enjoyed Sophie Kinsella’s work in the past. But this was just… bad. The story just went on and on, and Emma and Jack as characters were just so annoying. The performance was so awful I almost gave up after the second chapter. And I would have if I hadn’t paid for the Audible book. I started fast forwarding to get to the end. Complete disappointment.

Horrible narrator

This is one of my top comfort reads. The level of my horrible disappointment when listening to this narration is far worse than anything imaginable 😭. Save yourself and listen to a different version.
