About this listen

Butterfly is the first novel in an all new series by New York Times best-selling author Ashley Antoinette!

"Run away from the boy that gives you butterflies, he's going to break your heart."

Morgan Atkins had been told that phrase ever since she was a little girl, and still she allowed herself to fall for the boy that made her heart flutter. After losing her first love, Morgan is terrified to love again. She's settled for a comfortable life with a respectable man. She has everything. She's living in the lap of luxury, and although she's comfortable, she's bored out of her mind.

When a ghost from her past blows into town, she finds herself entangled in an illicit affair. It's wrong, but she can't fight the butterflies he gives her, and honestly, she doesn't want to. She can't hide the natural attraction she feels, and soon, she's so deep involved that she can no longer tell where the boundary between right and wrong lies. Her heart is telling her one thing, but her head is saying another. Morgan Atkins has always been a spoiled girl and she tries to have it all, but when she's forced to choose between a good man and a bad boy, someone will end up hurt. Someone just may end up dead.

Morgan Atkins has been through more tragedy than one girl can bear. Will she weather this storm? Or will the ultimate heartbreak ruin her for good?

Exhausting

I’m really getting tired of the Morgan storyline I’m really hoping that she starts making more chapters of the book about Bella in the next butterfly series or even Aria because Morgan is exhausting at this point the whole Morgan and Messiah is just getting tiring I want them to be together because they need each other but it’s becoming like ethic and Alani at this point Just going on and on. Honestly I wish butterfly was about Bella

Still With the Shennagins in 2020

So Ashley, you still gonna be with the shennagins in this new decade!? Like why are you doing us like this AGAIN!?

POTENTIAL READERS: This is the Ashley from Ethic 1, the one that sucked you all the way in with that DOPE storyline mmmkay!? Even better she has actually grown quite a bit in her writing style though, and for that I am grateful because the Ethic series dragged out way too long because of unnecessary stuff IN MY OPINION. In Butterfly, she appears to be progressing the storyline more quickly and leaving out the overly descriptive adjectives in every-single- chapter. She hasn't completely been delivered yet though, so prepare yourself for a few too many adjectives and references to someone being a God and a Queen, but..all in all there is definite growth in her writing and in the main character(s).

As a true fan of the M&M dynamic, I was admittedly extremely aggravated when teasers were dropped about the idea of Morgan finding love elsewhere, but this new storyline is just too sweet to hate on it. Life is complicated and messy sometimes and this storyline is proof positive that sometimes healing is too.

I was happy to get a glimpse of Ethic and Alani doing well, and ecstatic that Morgan finally grew up enough to not only let Alani love her, but love Alani back. Chiiiiiiiile, that gave me ALL THE FEELS!!!! Along with Morgan as a mother- It all just made me very proud of a character that I previously wanted to backhand very often!

In true Ashley style there is a cliffhanger. If you have read her other books, you know how she does. And as long as she doesn't drag this one out like she did the Ethic series, I am here for it.

Lastly, KUDOS to her to releasing the book in hard copy and on Audible the same day. Lawd knows with me trying to mind my business, drink my water and keep my skin clear, I didn't have time to commit to reading a book right now. Soooo, I hope she follows suit with part 2.

Yep!

Listen, to truly appreciate Butterfly, you have to read the Ethic Series. You won't understand how deep and powerful that graveyard seen with Ethic and Messiah really is... I love love love the idea of this new series and how we still get a taste of Ethic and family. Another winner Queen - Anxiously awaiting part 2!

Didn’t want the book to end!

I don’t know when the next book is coming out but I’m ready. I happened to stumble upon Ashley Antoinette’s Moth to a Flame and fell in love with the characters.

I really hoped that Morgan and Meek would hold out and remain friends. I hope in the next book she and Messiah find their way back to one another.

Oh and I love listening to any book Nicole Small reads!! She’s awesome!

Can’t wait

Can’t wait for Butterfly 2, already on preorder. This book was good a little drawn out with the sex exploits but a lot of readers like that.
