The audio editing took some patience

Where does Business Stripped Bare rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

in the business books I've read, the content was in the top third of the best ones I've read to date

What did you like best about this story?

His real life examples were nice to read about

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator was fine, but the audio editing was horrendous. The editor would go and put in dramatic pauses without any room tone so I continuously thought my audible app had crashed. It's just so jarring to not use room tone during the dramatic pauses, it made for a really discontinuous experience

Good book, ok audio, kind of into himself for majority of the book

Best at beginning and end

Be sure to finish or at least skip to the part where he brings in Nelson Mandela. This is in the last 1/4 of the book. The middle can drag, but the end is worth listening to.

I Might Be Biased

I love Branson the businessman. With that comes a fair amount of talk regarding his sporting exploits and political/altruistic causes. With over 200 companies to his credit, I would have liked to heard more about the business of building businesses. But, overall, still a good read.

Slightly bias, because I love Branson!

Take this review with a pinch of salt as I happen to like all that Richard does, and that tends to cloud my judgement.

As an entrepreneur, this book did what all his books do - motivate me, and make me ask some big questions. It acts as a reflection gatepost so I can get back to what really matters in my business.

The voice is easy to listen to, the words gold, and apart from too much environmental hype towards the end it was an all round excellent read, or listen.

Eccentric read by an eccentric man.

I've made a habit of reading/listening to many popular business books in the last couple of years. Branson undoubtedly has made a great success of himself and he's done it in interesting ways. But this book was less successful compared to others I've read as far as offering instruction or relatable ways of conducting your own business. The stories told were interesting and it was fascinating to hear about the genesis of the Virgin brand, but at some point, the reader needs more than what amounts to "think outside the box" and "take risks". Lastly, this is defintely geared towards the "start up" -- creating a brand and going big. From the stand point on working within an existing company, perhaps one with a more conservative outlook, it was difficult to relate.

stick to business

stick to business the global things and climate stuff are snoozers. plus you turn off people with different views. there was a statement in there imlying that Jimmy Carter knew a lot about business or entrepreneaurial endeavours. say what?!

He's rich and he likes to party...

There are some good nuggets, some things you'll gain from this about the importance and respect towards safety, of being responsible and quick to respond, however there are also things that I'll probably remember even more because they seemed rather consistent - Branson seems to always think that to sell something, it just helps to get naked or have some other people get scantily clad. He may be right, he may be wrong, but it does get monotonous about the third time he mentions how getting attractive people to say and dress a particular way will sell. He may indeed be more of Brand-son most of the time, but it wasn't that bad of a listen. 3 stars.
