Book Club Recommendation!

I found @AuthorJakeLynch to be a soul-filled writer who created a story of interesting and rich characters with meaningful and valuable topics. "Broken to Beautiful" takes us on a journey through the golden years of high school through the eyes of various characters. The narrator really captured each character well and made me laugh, cry and think. The story is long, but honestly, I didn't want it to end.

This book would be absolutely great for BOOK CLUBS for high schoolers, families and adults as there are so many relatable topics to discuss. My Book Club read and discussed it and we could have talked all night! The topics take you from feeling broken, lonely, grief-stricken, insecure, depressed and guilty, to feeling beautiful, forgiven, grace, faith, hope and love.

BOOK CLUB RECOMMENDATION: 1) Get a group together and make some brownies ;). 2) Read/Listen to "Broken to Beautiful" by Jake Lynch [Amazon/Audible]. 3) Listen/Watch the (10) 30-minute Podcasts, ["Author's Insights with Jake Lynch" on YouTube], which break down the book by chapters for easy discussion. 4) Discuss your thoughts and personal experiences.

The author says that this book isn't for everyone, but I disagree. I highly recommend it for everyone.

Emotional, Gripping, Life-Changing

Yes, it might be long... but this isn't just a book... it's an incredible journey of self-discovery, self-resilience, and how to overcome trauma. The narrator does an amazing job displaying the emotion of the main character and how she navigates dealing with trauma, her struggles with finding the purpose of life, and how she's able to bring light in some of life's most uncomfortable teenage situations. The author says this book isn't for everyone, but I believe everyone can relate to something that any of the characters is going through. Broken to Beautiful is well worth the time as it's a story that you won't forget and might even change you while you listen.

The life of Krystal

This book was an amazing story of the life of a young girl who went through many mental and physical struggles and was truly broken in every way to finding God and her whole life was changed and she used her story to help everyone around her. I loved this book and would recommend it to anyone who has lived a life in the dark searching for something but they didn’t know what it was. Or someone who is looking for answers about life and why they were created, as-well as anyone dealing with mental struggles and are struggling to make it through life and feeling hopeless. The story of Krystal’s life will truly change your perspective on your own life and what it looks like to truly live your life for God with no fear of what others think of you and how you can change someone’s life just from one small word or action. This is an Incredible book and I strongly suggest you read it.

Impacting Novel

Broken to Beautiful is a novel that will humble you, grow you and at times frustrate you with memories of your own life with his true to life character you can relate with.

Jake did an amazing job with Krystal story arc as well as the other characters in this book. Each shadowing and/or exposing real to life struggles we all have. Even for those of us who have been long out of school. But the social pressure and agendas can still be a prevalent struggle.

And the fact that Jake is so up front in his forward for those who should or should not read his novel shows His confident in God call to write them in a book. This book that is sure to impact your life.

I know, I was impacted so much so I too could testify of how Jake's "nobody looser character" in his book, Krystal, altered my life too. That is how realistic this novel can be to you too if you come open to receive.

Overall, I was pleaseantly surprised at how listening to a novel could leave such a lasting impression in me. Thanks, Jake, for writing it and also for making the audio version available for a busy on the go person like me.

adding a voice

adding a voice to a story I already read can sometimes change the feeling. This reader changed it for the better.
the story on it's own is heartfelt and a beautiful read but adding in the emotion of the reader made it even more impactful. the way she annunciated and emoted really levels up the reading experience of the book.

emotional and uplifting read

I absolutely loved this book and reached me on levels only thought possible in movies. Going through depression myself I really resonated with the main chacter and her relationship with the Jesus and feeling like an outcast in high school and social interactions. I absolutely loved the journey and watching Crystal go from a shy self hating girl to a strong and confident woman she becomes with her relationship with the Lord. this book is truely inspiring and gives me hope for my relationship with Jesus. I would recommend this book to anyone who has battled with depression, social rejection, and trouble trusting in Jesus. it's a must read and will warm your heart.

Enjoyable listen

good plotline, dimensional characters and multiple points which hit home to many. There will typically be many instances to which one can relate to within multiple characters‘ story. In regards to audible- great narration which is easy to follow, especially in regards to who was speaking and when, as well as when the story is simply being narrated.

Outstanding Story and Characters!!

There are few books in life that will impact you, transform you for the better. This book will. That is why it is a must listen. The characters have amazing depth. Their interactions are incredibly meaningful. Their growth is astounding. You will identify with and root for the main character. Then, you will cheer her on as she transforms and transforms those around her. The narrator’s voice will touch you and she does an excellent job managing the numerous characters. The voice of Summer will make you laugh out loud. Do yourself a favor, listen to this book. It starts out with a hard, devastating topic, but as it progresses you will not want it to end.

Inspiring, Motivating, and Captivating

I loved the story/plot, characters, and style of writing. The plot kept me entertained from beginning to end. I loved the fact that the story was told from multiple perspectives and it was refreshing to see the characters grow and develop throughout the book. There were plot twists which i didn't expect which was exciting. This is a great book for those that need hope in dark times.
