About this listen

Scream all you want, no one can hear you...

When an attempted murder is linked to a string of unsolved sexual attacks, Detective Chief Inspector Whitney Walker is incensed. All those women who still have sleepless nights because the man who terrorizes their dreams is still on the loose.

Calling on forensic psychologist Dr Georgina Cavendish to help, they follow the clues and are alarmed to discover the victims all had one thing in common. Their birthdays were on the 29th February. The same date as a female officer on Whitney’s team.

As the clock ticks down and they’re no nearer to finding the truth, can they stop the villain before he makes sure his next victim will never scream again.

Broken Screams is the twelfth book in the acclaimed Cavendish & Walker series and is perfect for fans of Angela Marsons, Helen H Durrant and Rachel McClean.

Another great edition to the series!!

I truly LOVE this series! I really would love to see it expand a little more on Whitney’s romantic life but can’t wait to see what’s in store for them next. The detective who came to help would make a GREAT love interest 😉

Another great Walker & Cavendish story

This mystery series is my favorite of the author’s and have listened to every edition. Even though I was able to read the book for free through my Kindle Unlimited membership, I always elect to buy the Audible book narrated by the fabulous Clare Corbett. There are only a few narrators that I will do this for because like Clare, they bring the characters to life so expertly.

Without giving away a hint, I knew that the early obvious choices for the stalker/then rapist/escalating to killer were probably red herrings. However, as the book progressed I became just as stumped as to whodunnit as DCI Walker and her crew.

Thankfully all the enjoyment I derive from the quibbling between Doug & Frank were in this edition. What will happen when Frank retires? Oh dear!

I loved the Cavendish possibilities upon which the book ended. Yay for George stepping into the Unknown!

Typical Sally Rigby...

I like this series, but some things never change and the listener has to accept these annoying nuances because they are in every book in the series. I'm talking about the repetitive background stories for each character. For some reason (more word count possibly?) Rigby repeats the same narrative over and over for each person in every single book (psychotic twins anyone?) Also, she definitely has her favorite catch phrases that are constantly used over and over..."hands up in mock surrender", "companionable silence", "early days", "bite down on bottom lip", etc. Every single book has all these phrases. It's crazy. I laugh every time I hear them (woud make a great drinking game). Silver lining is the stories are good and the narrator is perfect.

Can’t wait until #13

I love this series. The dynamic between all the characters is great. Shows how many with different personalities can become great friends!

Excellent as usual!

Although I did get a little confused about the Matt storyline - I wasn't sure how that fitted in.
