About this listen

Nick Belanger can't stop thinking about the single mother who lives next door. She's smart. She's funny. She's so beautiful he can't stare at her too long for fear his eyes will start to glow. But Kayla thinks he's just an ordinary guy who works in security. Finding out he instead is a powerful immortal warrior who hunts and slays psychotic vampires for a living may not go over well, particularly since she has a daughter she doesn't want to endanger.

Kayla Dorman can keep neither her gaze nor her thoughts from straying to the man next door. Who can blame her really? He is the epitome of tall, dark, and handsome with smart, charming, and honorable thrown in. He's also a few years younger than her and surely would not be interested in a single mom who hasn't dated since her divorce. At least that's what she thinks until an accident nearly takes her life and Nick risks all to save her.

The dynamics of their relationship swiftly change. The friendship they've developed over the years deepens into love as the two spend every minute they can together, laughing and teasing, never suspecting a threat may lurk in the shadows.

Contains mature themes.

Amazing

Great story . The hero is so real and believable, the love, the worry , Kayla is strong. but still has doubts .they both question if what the other could really love them . yet they communicate, and are honest and find a way to get through. wickedly fantastic read....

Doesn’t disappoint

More of the same, yes. But, I like this. Immortal Guardians and their stories are very interesting. Kirsten Potter is fantastic as ever.

Nick and Kayla❤️

Again and again Dianne draws you into the fantastic world of the Immortal Guardians. Simply put I cannot say enough to bring justice to this author and her abilities to create an experience of pure reading enjoyment. She never disappoints.

Yes!! SO GOOD!!

Dianne never disappoints! I loved this book! What a great way to give us something new but not stray from the formula we all have come to know and love!
It was fun to read about Houston, the city I've called home for over 30 years.
Nick and Kayla's story overlaps the last book so I know there are many more to come!! I can't wait to read the next one!!
Hurry Dianne!!! 😘

Another great addition to the IG world.

This one could essentially be a standalone. You don’t really need to read the other books in the series in order to understand the events that happen in this one. Everything vital about the IG world is explained within the book and while there are references to other characters you wouldn’t feel out of the loop if you haven’t read their books. For all intents and purposes this is a spin-off so don’t expect any plot carry over.

I did like Nick and Kayla and I felt like their story was very sweet. The conflict within the book stands alone and is resolved at the end of the book, no cliffhanger. I feel like I would have liked the story to be a little bit longer, maybe to have included some more scenes with Kayla’s daughter (especially at the end).

If you like this series so far, you’ll like this book. It’s follows the same writing and plot pattern of pretty much all of the IG books up to this point.

The usual but still not bad

I enjoy this world so even though this story wasn’t a surprise I still enjoyed the new characters while getting a chance to experience my old favorites like Roland and Seth. I do, however hope there is a point behind this story in the next book. Maybe something with her daughter and Oliver
