A great book

A wonderful book that I found to be developmental and maturative for a young man coming of age such as myself. I found great relation with the protagonist and I further highly recommend this book.

no love is greater than mother and daughter .

a great book for young ladies to read as having problems with their parents especially their mother and how they can see their way through as they get older NC the real world to their mother's eyes

Adaptation and Performance Top Notch

My seven year-old has requested this one at least a couple times now. Very well adaptation of the movie. Rayner's performance is a real treat. Highly recommend.

Great narrator!

If you’ve listened to books by Disney Press before, how does this one compare?

Much better narration than some other Disnay Press books. The story line itself is not my favorite.

What does Lucy Rayner bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Excellent accents and inflection!! The way she reads brings up vivid mental images of the action, people and places.

Any additional comments?

I really don't like Merida's attitude, and don't want my young girls to mirror it. They are too young to comprehend her feelings and relationship with her mother, and to them she just comes across as vindictive and mean. I think this book is better suited to older children with understanding of the cultural differences in attitudes and expectations of different times and places. Otherwise, it's just a spoiled girl taking revenge on her mother, not a mother and daughter gaining understanding of each other through hardship.
