About this listen

Eve Duncan became a forensic sculptor after the disappearance of her daughter Bonnie, whose remains were discovered...yet unrecognizable. Driven by a need to liberate innocence from the shroud of death, she obsesses over recreating the likenesses of faceless, decomposed murder victims, using only their bare skulls as a guide.

Fleeing to Baton Rouge to take on the project of identifying a skeleton, Eve is forced to work in secrecy, given only the sketchiest of information, and she can’t help but wonder if the high-level security that surrounds her is meant to protect her ... or imprison her.

I love it when I can’t guess the outcome or have my doubts.. I really love Getting lost in the lives of Eve and Joe and their loved ones.

It would be far easier to follow if the male characters actually sounded male instead of trying to focus/decide which character/gender.

Good story

This was a surprising plot. The Secret Societies added another plot twist to the story. I was surprised to find them in this book. I know they really exist. You will enjoy the book.

I haven't finished the book yet (I've read it before myself though) but I have to say how much it irritates my soul that Galen is British but the narrator reads him with a pretty noticeable Irish accent. I may be the only one but if a character is written a certain way they should be read that way.

Am I the only one bothered by this??
