About this listen

How far would you go to bury the truth?

While searching for a missing hill walker, Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team uncovers a body - just not the one they were looking for.

Still dealing with the fallout from their last case, DCI Jack Logan and his team venture south from Inverness to investigate a brutal, gangland-style execution in the wilds of the Highland countryside.

As the victim's dark secrets are gradually revealed, Jack uncovers the rot lurking beneath the stunning scenery, making himself the target of a criminal more dangerous than any he has faced before.

If he isn't careful, it won't just be a murder he's dealing with in Glencoe.

It'll be a massacre.

Blood and Treachery is the fourth book by number one Amazon best-selling author JD Kirk, perfect for fans of Tartan Noir.

It’s all here

J. D.Kirk has done it again..been responsible for my lost sleep, that is.
Not a complaint. Rather a huzzah, a “ damn well done” written in the margins, especially at the parts which made me laugh aloud; a 5 stars for ya, mate kind of thank you.
Life has interfered with fun lately, and I owe a debt of gratitude to J.D.
His books ( betcha can’t read just one,) have eased the journey.
Good writing does that.
And Angus, he of many and varied voices. I preferred to listen rather than read , because what could be better than a Scotsman reading a book placed in Scotland, by a Scots author?
Thank you both.

Another good one

4.25 Stars 🌟

Four books in to this series and I am still enjoying it. I especially love the fact that the narrator is Scottish (at least he sounds that way to me) and the setting is the Scottish Highlands. It's fun to see the different styles of policing that happen in the UK versus where I live - in the US.

And the cases are interesting. This one dealing with a body discovered after being cut up in an unusual way, drugs, murder, and the death of an unexpected character. It was hard because I am finally getting to know and like all of the gang that hangs around with DCI Jack Logan.

On to book 5 :)

Another great JD Kirk

DCI Jack Logan is a great series. This one, just like the others, kept me listening for hours. Defiantly with the money or credits.

Another great story

This series is so far, consistently excellent. Angus King has more vocal nuances than my 100 yard raspberry shrub wall has berries in summer. And the plot of this one is as good as the others. Nothing earth shattering - ‘no way’ in the whodunnit story line, but dialogue is very funny, sometimes brilliantly so, characters well defined and actually evolve through the books based on what has happened in prior episodes. Just terrific stuff to get one’s head out of the real world in order to become immersed in great ol polis procedural murder stories.

a good book in the series

overall the story was good I was getting tired of the seal killer angle. Angus King does a really good job in his performance in using the Scottish accent and differentiating all the characters. it's an enjoyable listen.

Best Scottish Detective Series Ever

These characters are so well developed, the sarcastic humor is perfectly timed to enlist a chuckle even during a tense moment & Angus King is the PERFECT NARRATOR! Love, love, love it

interesting story line, great character development.

I came across this series having exhausted all the books in my other ongoing reads which were also murder mysteries set in the UK. 4 books in and it does not disappoint. The story lines are well thought out and captivating. Topic of this book is current and well researched. Love the reader and all the locations the stories are set in. Can't wait to start the next book in the series. Thanks for the hours of entertainment this book and the series offer.
