Good narration

Some minor historical inaccuracies which did not affect the story . I was able to ignore them as I read on.

Great Story!!!

I really enjoyed this story book. The narrator could have been a little more animated and changed his voice some. That’s why the three stars performance. Other then that it was GREAT!!

So much great action throughout the entire story!

So much great action throughout the entire story! The longer I listened to this book, the more I enjoyed it, so much so that once I finished it, I immediately started Book 2 to follow Raven's adventures. As a lover of the viking genre, this one did not let me down. The narrator also did an excellent job - really pulling me into the story. Kudos to the writer and the narrator!

One of the best read performances I have listened to and this book was very well written has some good similes and analogies.

Great adventure!

Kind of brutal, lots of action, always entertaining. One comment/clarification about some other reviews which find fault with the protagonist “instantly” being able to understand the Norse language. It’s easily explained and referenced several times in the book (though we don’t yet know all the circumstances behind it)—Raven is approx 15-17 years old as the book begins. He was discovered on the beach two years prior to the start of the story but has no memories prior to being discovered. When the Norsemen arrive, however, he is able to understand their language. That’s not “instant.” That’s a pretty big clue…

Wolfpack

Sigurd the lucky, the saga continues. Packed with adventure and Norse antics, it will not disappoint. Great lead in from the original saga. Odin is smiling on them.

Engrossing ride with the Norsemen !!

I love historical fiction, but usually stick with stories of medieval kings and queens rather than with the violent tales of the blood and gore encountered in the "shield wall"-- but Bernard Cornwell first hooked me with his "Saxon Chronicles" and I have now read (listened to) all of the books in that series -- hence tried this one and very much enjoyed it. Excellent narrator, absorbing story, never a dull moment…. I plan to go on and read the next two volumes in this series, which to my great relief I see are also available on Audible. It's nice to be so caught up in the listening experience and know that there is more to come !!!

Great story however minor plot issues

I really love the story. The only issue I really had was the fact that this was a very young character, maybe 15 or 16 years old, with dialogue and interactions with other characters that are clearly from an adult. The narrator only use the voice of a young boy when the boy is talking to the Viking leader. Also, I struggle to understand how this band of vikings loses so few under such tremendous odds. If you can overlook these minor plot issues I believe you'll really enjoy this book.
