Another winner in the BDI series!!!!

Black Velvet is the newest book in the Black’s Bandits series from Lynn Raye Harris. I adore the Black’s Bandits series every bit as much as I do the Hostile Operations Team books, and Black Velvet totally delivered with another awesome addition to the series.

Roberta “Robbie” Sharp is a reclusive romance writer who needs protection thanks to threatening notes she is receiving from a stalker. Dax Freed is the mercenary who is on the job to protect Robbie at all costs.

Dax and Robbie had pretty incredible chemistry from the moment they met. Of course, she has major reservations initially about being around someone who is tall, dark, and handsome. Robbie had been used by her parents and her ex-husband for years, and it took a great deal for her to trust again. I loved seeing Robbie and Dax connect pretty much from the moment they met. There was something just special about them together. Yes they had smoking hot chemistry, but I loved that Dax saw the real Robbie and didn’t want anything from her other than her love.

They mystery of the stalker was strong in this story. Ms. Harris tends to keep me guessing in most of the books, but I admit I guessed who the stalker was, but was totally not prepared for the why. I love when a book keeps me guessing, and Black Velvet did it so many times.

I adore the entire BDI family of characters. Ian Black and the members of his organization are just as much a family as the HOT teams are, and I love getting to revisit all my favorite characters in each new book. While each of these books totally stands alone story-wise, I feel like reading them in order gives the reader a better insight into each of the characters. Lynn Raye Harris once again has given her readers a beautiful romance with suspense to keep the reader on the edge of their seat. I highly recommend this book to fans of romantic suspense.

Black Velvet was such an awesome story, and listening to the audiobook just make it even more real to me. Both narrators were absolute rockstars with seamless transitions and spot-on voicing of the various characters. This was one of the most well done audiobooks in the series, and they have all been pretty fantastic.

Great addition to this series!

This next installment of the Black's Bandit series was a great addition to this series! I loved Dax's and Robbie's story.

Dax, a mercenary for Ian Black and his group of bandits is assigned to protect romance writer Roberta Sharpe from the threats that she has been receiving since the release of her latest book. In a plan to be a pretend boyfriend in order to complete his assignment while on her book tour turns in to more when he realizes that he has feelings for her that go beyond the physical attraction that he has had since meeting her.

Robbie or Roberta as she is known in the book world is not only threatened by a stalker, complete with death threats, but is being harassed by her ex-husband in his lame attempt at a reconciliation with her now that he is broke. She is an admitted introvert and is still working at getting over her anger that at the time was unknown verbal and mental abuse that she suffered from by the hand of her ex only to have him reappear in her life. She is also trying to overcome writer's block and create her next novel that will hopefully make her readers happy again. She has also suffered from instant attraction to Dax while inwardly swooning at his thoughtfulness and his alpha ways.

This pair had chemistry that was off the charts. Their attraction to each other where it appeared to be instant worked for this pair and the twists in this story had me guessing throughout as to who could be behind the threats to Robbie.

Overall, this was a great read and a great addition to this series. In the end, I would recommend this book to others.

Black Velvet is amazing

I love Black Velvet! This story is one of my favorite stories by Lynn Raye Harris! The narrators did an amazing job!! This book is worth listening to and reading. All of Lynn Raye Harris' books are simply amazing and worth reading!

Loved Black Velvet!

Lynn Raye Harris has another hit with Black Velvet. The attraction between Dax and Robbie is hot from the very beginning and continues straight through until the end.

Dax and Robbie

Another winner! This is Dax and Robbie’s story It has it all, action and some suspense. It will suck you in from the beginning with its twists and turns. I loved the characters, the banter and sizzling chemistry. I loved how Dax helped Robbie overcome her insecurities. It’s entertaining story and not to be missed.

Amazing

Ok, this might be my favorite of the series. Dax & Roberta's story is a wonderful mix of suspense, romance, and danger with a hint of humor. I was pulled in from the beginning and had to finish it in one sitting. The story revolving around an author in trouble is an interesting take. I loved the narrators; they were perfect for this story. I cannot wait for the next one.

Her Hero

Robbie didn't believe in love and heroes any more after she'd been let down by those who were supposed to love her. Dax has lost in love before. When Dax is sent to be Robbie's bodyguard/fake boyfriend, they both find what they have been missing. Another must read in the Black's Bandits that has a twist you may not see coming until it's too late. AUDIO: Zachary Webber and Stephanie Nemeth-Parker bring the steam to this newest Black's Bandits book.

Right Up My Alley

This is the first story from Lynn Raye Harris that I’ve listened to and it was everything I look for in a romance book: A gorgeous, hot alpha ex-military/CIA operative turned bodyguard working for a company filled with other special agent type badasses; a smart, vulnerable woman author who I could easily relate to; super hot lovemaking; no angst love story; suspense; twists and turns; a surprise whodunnit; and a wonderful HEA.

Both narrators were spot on.

Why? That's all I want to know.

I was a little surprised Dax fell for a "romance writer". She is an introvert and I always thought of him as very outgoing. Will he be able to bring Robbie out of her shell? And who is trying to scare the bejeezus out of her? Are the threats real or is it a prank? It's so hard to know.

When you find out what is really going on and why, I think you will just shake your head and ask Why?

Z Webb is always a dream to listen to and he did justice to Dax's character. Stephanie Nemeth-Parker is a new to me narrator. I enjoyed her as Robbie. Being vulnerable and yet finding her strength when needed.
