One of Nora Roberts' best

I have read most of Nora Roberts books. The In the Garden Trilogy is my favorite and Black Rose is my favorite of the three. It was fun to revisit the books in audio format - hearing the characters accents make them even more real.

My favorite character in the series.

Roz is my favorite character in all of the 3 books. The narration is fantastic,10 stars to Susan Breck. In this book, Raz is the target of the Harper Brides anger. Hired to investigate Roz's ancestors, Dr. Mitchell Carnegie finds himself falling in love w/ Roz. The Harper Bride is not happy that Roz is falling for Mitchell and does her best to stop it. It seems that any time one of the woman starts to have feelings for a man the Harper Bride starts to haunt and go crazy. Roz's ex husband comes back into town and starts up all kinds of trouble for her. He opens credit cards in her name, cancelled memberships to clubs and tries to turn friends against her. In the end his big mouth tells the truth about what he's been up to. He goes to the gardens and trashes the place. Ends up getting beat up and sent to jail. Roz marries Mitchell and that is the start of the next book. The marriage really stirs up the Brides feels and her hatred for men. She was a mistress of the great great grand father of Roz. He got her pregnant and then stole the son she bore. This is why she is looking for her baby and hates all men. All n all a good book.

I enjoyed listening to this story about a woman who must dig into her family history to find the identity of a ghost in her house. Roz is a strong independent woman and a pleasure to get ti know through this story. The narrator did a great job expressing the feelings of all the characters in this book.

Great series

2 out of 3 really enjoying this. The first one hooked me and I can’t wait to begin the third
