Publisher's summary
The new female deputy and a hero with a past face a series of copycat crimes that terrorize their small town.
She came home to be near her aging father.
Trish Franklin, the first female deputy in the county, has returned to Winfield on the Lake Superior shore. She’s worried about her aging father, embittered by a family tragedy. And this is only made worse by Grey Lawson’s return.
Grey’s carelessness was responsible for that tragedy.
He comes home for one reason, to take care of his beloved great aunt who raised him. He can’t believe that he didn’t realize seven years ago that everything he did affected this good woman. But now will his return cause her more trouble?
Trish finds herself drawn to this repentant man.
But is someone seeking revenge on Grey? How can Trish solve this series of near fatal accidents before someone is seriously injured or killed? And sort out her feelings for the man her father hates?
A suspenseful faith-filled love story from a Carol Award–winning author!
Reader review:
“Lyn Cote's Bitter Autumn is an edge of your seat, do not expect to put it down adventure. I am always emotionally spent when I finish her books! Bitter Autumn should serve as a wake up call for anyone who thinks they have a right to dish out vengeance or those who refuse to forgive...The characters are well portrayed and the plot is fascinating. You do not want to miss this book!”

Story
The modern audience hasn't had a chance to truly appreciate the unknowing dread that readers would have felt when reading Bram Stoker's original 1897 manuscript. Most modern productions employ campiness or sound effects to try to bring back that gothic tension, but we've tried something different. By returning to Stoker's original storytelling structure - a series of letters and journal entries voiced by Jonathan Harker, Dr. Van Helsing, and other characters - with an all-star cast of narrators, we've sought to recapture its originally intended horror and power.

Obsessed with the constellations, she finds peace in the starry night sky above the fields behind her house until one night her stargazing causes an accident. Wish I knew the series
I am enjoying these books, but although I’ve read several, I do not know the name of the series or what order the books should be in. As far as I can tell, the titles and descriptions do not have this information. The virtual voice is generally better than expected, but its disconcerting to hear the narrator read some dialogue in a soft gentle voice and read the tag “he said harshly.” And mistakes like calling “nine hundred and one” instead of 9-1-1 can be a little jarring. But I’m glad this technology enables more authors get books in audio format.
