About this listen

Sophie Scott is a privileged but hard working London girl who's had just about enough of her mother's obsessive attempts to set her up with an eligible bachelor. She has no interest in dating and has never been in love.

When she meets her new colleague Mel on a business trip to Hong Kong, her whole world is turned upside down by the beautiful and independent woman who couldn't be more different from her. It's hard to hide from love in a city that never dims its lights. But love is never easy when everything you know changes....

News for Family Only.

I just wanted to let you know that this was a wonderful twist in the families dynamics. Debbie was like so many Debby’s I know, David was very cool. Off to my next adventure.

Great book!

This was a cute little love story mixed with a tease of coming out. I saw it coming between the two characters, early on of course, it was plain as day! The coming out piece was a little bit down played but I suspect that wasn't the main point so it didn't need to be in the forefront. The characters had plenty of chemistry and and we're very likable. Overall, the book was pretty good, I loved the energy and enthusiasm of the narrator throughout the book. She brought the experience of seeing new places to life, found myself wanting plan my own trip. Def worth the listen/read!

Ah, Love

I’m not sure what’s happening to me. If someone had suggested I might read a romance novel someday, I’d have laughed aloud. I always liked romance in amongst a different genre, but it was a side benefit. But Lise Gold’s books just keep sucking me in to get the next one (although I’m almost through the catalog).
As for Jessica Jeffries: In the opening sentences , I was disappointed that it wasn’t TJ Richards, whose voice had become a mainstay for me. I got over that quite quickly! Ms Jeffries was the perfect narrator for this story. She has tremendous range, crossing borders of class and culture, which was important for this story. Her Sophie was as shyly reserved as her Mel was bold and courageous. She expressed the subtlety of both characters so well. Perfect.

Cute story

This was a cute story, I probably will not use it as a tour book in Hong Kong as someone wrote, but I enjoyed it. It was well written, I like the characters, the story line was somewhat predictable but most of them are, right?
I loved the narration, Jessica Jeffries did an excellent job, with the accent of Chinese people and any other non English speakers.

I want this made into a movie

Very nice coming out story. A little angst, a lot of romance. I want to see this as a lesbian hallmark romance movie, please.

Excellent Audio!

I loved Beyond the Skyline. Sophie and Mel are great characters. This is a workplace romance. The setting in Hong Kong certainly adds spice to the story. Jessica Jeffries does an excellent job with the narration.

This wants to make me go to Hong Kong

This has been my favourite of Lise Gold books and I have read or listened to all of them. Hong Kong sounds worth the visit and the book shows the reader some hidden gems.
The characters are engaging and the growing sexual tension and later love is palpable. I liked the narrator too, she was the perfect choice for this story. Definitely going to listen to it again.

Too many Commas

The story was nice and enjoyable. The voice, actor spoke, with, to, many, commas. That, made, me, crazy.
