About this listen
The story of a remarkable friendship - told in a remarkable way. A story in which every woman will recognize herself...and her best friend
Jillian Lawton and Lesley Adamski. Two girls from very different backgrounds become best friends in the turbulent '60s, but their circumstances and choices - and their mistakes - take them in opposite directions. Lesley stays in their hometown. She marries young, living a life defined by the demands of small children, never enough money, and an unfaithful husband. Jill lives those years on a college campus shaken by the Vietnam War, and then as an idealistic young lawyer in New York City.
But they always remain friends.
Through the years and across the miles, Jill and Lesley confide everything to each other - every grief and joy. Because the quality of a friendship is the quality of a life.
Bonus Novella: Home to Honeymoon Harbor by JoAnn Ross
The rivalry between the Mannion and Harper families has divided them for over a century. Which is why, when John Mannion and Sara Harper fall in love, they become the small seaport town's very own Romeo and Juliet. But in Honeymoon Harbor, nothing - not even an infamous family feud - is a match for love.

Story
Two classic stories of finding love where you least expect it! Marriage Wanted: As far as Nash Davenport's concerned, marriage isn't shelter from the storm - it is the storm. He's a divorce attorney, himself divorced, who believes no married couple can live up to their wedding vows. My Hero: Would-be romance writer Bailey York has already failed twice at love. She thinks men are wonderful to read and write about, but that's it. Which is probably why she has such difficulty creating a hero for her novel. What she needs is a real-life example.

Story
As war moves ever closer, the sleepy English village of Crowmarsh Priors settles into a new sort of normal: Evacuees from London are billeted in local homes. The nightly German air raids become grimly mundane. Rationing curtails every comfort. Men leave to fight and die. And five women forge a bond of friendship that will change their lives forever in this engrossing novel of loyalty, loss, and love in the shadow of World War II.With the hardships of war intensifying every day, the women band together to defeat formidable enemies and find remarkable strength within themselves to help one another. It is a war-forged loyalty certain to endure years and distance. When four of the women return for a celebration fifty years later, their mission is not simply to commemorate or remember. They’ve returned to confront a traitor whose actions cost countless lives — and to avenge one of their own at last.

Stuck in the quirky small town, Rorie gets to know Clay, and she quickly starts to fall for the gruff, tough cowboy. Can a city girl make it work with a country man? Kate Logan is understandably devastated when her former fiancé marries someone else instead. At the wedding, after one glass of champagne, she spontaneously—foolishly—proposes to her longtime friend Luke Rivers. And Luke agrees.

What did you love best about Between Friends?
When it started I thought I wouldn't like it but within minutes I couldn't stop listening and it brought back so many memories. Although I love most all of her books this one captured my attention and drew me in more than any other. What other book might you compare Between Friends to and why?
I love the other Debbie Macomber books and think anyone who reads this would like any of her others.Have you listened to any of Amy Tallmadge’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I am not sure but she did an amazing job!Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When the first death occurred, I felt it personally and was so movedAny additional comments?
Reliving history was so much fun and sparked emotions of forgotten events and corresponded with the characters.Best Debbie Macomber yet

At first I thought I wasn’t going to like this book, but I picked it up a second time and as I got into it I found Debbie Macomber’s style in writing for this book intrigued my senses and kept me involved. I’m a 76 year old women so I could recall, and relate to, all of the history Debbie so cleverly wove into the communications between these two friends. But it wasn’t just history, this book told very personal stories, as well. Thank you, Debbie Macomber, for the ‘experience’.
Such a delightful way to tell a story!
