Wonderful post Civil War story

This is such a sweet post Civil War story. There are some unexpected twists and turns and intrigue. The children in the story are so cute and happy, such a reminder of hope in a time that was hard

it was ok

I was really hoping that this book was going to be amazing. A good chunk of the book seemed so repetitive which made it hard for me to stay focused. the last five or six chapters we're probably the best parts of the book. I really hope that other books from this author that I hope to read are a little bit better.
