Kayla is a scavenger, driven to search the ruins of abandoned cities for artifacts in exchange for critical life-saving supplies. But, the rarest artifacts are found in the most dangerous ruins—those under control by the OmniLab traders.
Carl is one of those traders—and Kayla’s invaded his district. He’s determined to stop her and the best way to do that is to recruit her. The only problem?
Kayla hates traders.
When a powerful man intent on revenge starts hunting her, Kayla realizes the only way to save herself may be to accept Carl’s offer. But that would mean surrendering to OmniLab and giving up everything she knows.
Only everything isn’t quite what it seems.
Including OmniLab.
And Kayla’s in a lot of trouble.
Beneath the Fallen City is an exciting post-apocalyptic fantasy series with romantic elements and shocking twists. Join Kayla as she unearths the secrets of the past and discovers a hidden world no one thought was possible.

Story
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

LOVE getting lost in this world...
This was not my first read of this book and is unlikely to be my last, though it was my first listen and it was just as good as I remembered, if not better. The book hangover is real. This is an incredible world to get lost into with epic world-building, a love triangle type situation that’ll give you whiplash, one of the strongest female leads I’ve read, a slight paranormal aspect, a dystopian setting and so, so much action and adventure.
I wholeheartedly recommend this read.
5 stars.

Beneath The Fallen City
like what the heck. I was not expecting how good this book was going to be. like holy cow so many surprises, secrets and backstabbing happen in this first book. but I have to say that the female lead is such a badass. she is so smart and I love how she stands up for the right people I can't wait for the next book to come out and let's not forget the narrators they did such a good job bringing this book to life.

Absolutely Loved This!!
I absolutely loved this book. It took me a little while to really get into it. But once it started going, it was fantastic!! The narrator was great. The story was amazing. This series is going to be great. About a year or so ago, I read Jamie Water's series, "To Kill a Fae" series. And that was one of the best series that I have read in a long time. This one was almost as good as that one. I am most definitely curious to see what happens. I can't wait for book 2!!!

Wonderfully Intriguing! Great Story & Narration🎧
This is an amazing start to the “Omni Towers” series, a fascinating story that is completely engaging, so much so that once I started, I did not want to stop because I needed to know what happened next. There is a reason this is an award-winning novel, well multiple reasons, the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. Kayla, the lead female character, is the picture of a heroine, she is brilliant and I admired her tenacity, braveness and rooted her the entire time. It is a post apocalyptic world, and the earth is in ruins and there is already a tier system with Kayla on the bottom, a scavenger hunter, a ruin rat and one of the best there is. She went head to head with an OmniLab trader, Ramiro, who controls the ruins and what is removed from their assigned district. Another trader, Carl, who sees her talent offers her a job, and not being a fan of traders she plans on declining, but when Ramiro puts a target on her head, it is in her best interest to join Carl and his team, it will give her the much needed protection. Amenities are a little better for the traders and Kayla gets to experience more, but then things take a turn when her true identity gets revealed and they take her to the Omni Tower. There is never a dull moment in this book and the story has it all: drama, angst, twists and turns, action, heartfelt emotions and a side of romance. Jamie A. Waters, thank you for this wonderfully intriguing story, escapism at its finest.
🎧📚🎧 Paige Reisenfeld did a fantastic job bringing these characters to life and did so with a complete understanding of who she was portraying. She covered the roles for all the characters, giving each their own distinct voice, making it easy to follow along and tell how is who. She was a natural as Kayla, fierce and feisty, not afraid to back down and she was just as amazing in the male roles, including Carl and her sidekick, Veridian, as well as all the characters who follow. Reisenfeld sets the perfect tone for the story, captures all the characters’ emotions and has you feeling them all. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this amazing listen.

Looking forward to the next one!!
Love! Love! Love! I am sorry this ended! I have been having such a good time listening to this one! This has an amazing new world that the author created. The creativeness of the author just astounds me. Then we have the characters that are engaging and that are easily identifiable by their quirks. This does have a few twists that I did not see coming. I can only imagine what this author will come up with first for the next book.
I listened to this on audio. Paige Reisenfeld does an awesome job narrating! I love listening to all her voices and look forward to more from her.

Captivating!
This was my first Jamie A. Waters's book. This is the first book in The Omni Tower Series, an entertaining post-apocalyptic fantasy series with romantic elements. Kayla's story is original, and fast-paced, filled with action, danger, adventure, and twists and turns. Kayla is a scavenger. She is beautiful, strong, smart, and determined. The side characters, Carl and Alex, are intriguing and enigmatic. The world building is complex, and captivating. Paige Reisenfeld did an excellent job bringing this story to life. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listening to Shadow of the Coalition, the next book in the series, to know what happens next. #PFPAudio

Great beginning!
This is the first book/series I've read/listened to by Jamie A. Waters. She is an excellent author! I listened to the first three audiobooks in this series back to back. I was so completely invested in the characters and storyline that I did not want to pause the audio. Fantasy is not my normal genre and I generally dislike triangles, but I had to know how it would all play out. I loved the closeness of many of the characters. There was suspense, action, and romance. The guy I wanted to win the heroine the whole way through, WON! I was thrilled for that. I am looking forward to continuing this series!
Paige Reisenfeld is an amazing narrator. She voiced the male and female characters perfectly. She performed with emotion that had it rolling like a movie in my head. It was perfection!
