About this listen

Jamie is proud of everything he’s achieved. A consultant anesthetist and the medical education director - he’s a pretty big deal. So when one of his medical students falls asleep, right in the middle of a tutorial, he is furious. He’s a bloody good teacher, damn it!

Maybe he could have been a little more understanding. Maybe he didn’t have to try to humiliate her. But the shock of how beautiful this particular student was when she finally opened her eyes, and his inappropriate reaction, only fueled his anger. He’s tired of lame excuses from wild party animals burning the candle at both ends, and he’s going to make an example of this one.

For Libby, pride is a luxury and beauty is currency. Pregnant at 17 and an aspiring doctor, she couldn’t afford to be proud, so she cashed in on her looks instead. She will beg, borrow, or steal to achieve her dreams and give her daughter the life she deserves, even if she has to forgo sleep - even if she has to leave her dignity behind.

Only now that she’s not just sitting in lecture theatres like her first two years of medical school, now that she’s working in a real hospital, Libby is realizing that the thread she’s been hanging onto for so long may be about to snap. The last thing she needs is to have riled the gorgeous, judgmental head of medical education. But there’s only so far you can push yourself, only so much pressure you can be under until you break. Libby’s been on that cliff edge for a while; her health may just tip her over.

A kick in the shin from a four-year-old girl and a confrontation with her tearful, exhausted mother soon forces Jamie to see what a bastard he’s been. Libby may not accept his help, but he’s relentless when he wants something, and it’s not long before he realizes that this mother and daughter belong with him. So when a stag night he’s on ends up in the best strip club in England and he sees who the main attraction is, his reaction is explosive.

Despite everything, Libby finds she still has some pride left. This man has made her feel small twice now. He won’t be getting a third shot. No matter how gorgeous he is, no matter how persistent....

Great Story

This was an very enjoyable story. The story of a single mom trying to put herself through medical school. This book kept my attention, with no major lulls. The narration was very well done. First time I have read anything from this author but will search for other books.

Very good with out all the spice.

I was very surprised by this book. Recently I’ve been trying to read less books with spice, and this book really hit the spot. Great romantic story, but without all the graphic detail of sex. All the passion was still there, and this was very well written.

great story

i honestly didn't know how to quite feel about this book. i wanted to rate it higher but there were a few things that just irrigated me. i truly rates it a 3.5 but i usually round up.

this book takes place in Britain. this is a very united states review.

Libby is a 3rd year medical student who is doing her clinical rounds. she is portrayed as this unbelievably beautiful women. But at the same time frumpy and unput together. She falls asleep during one of her lectures and the MMC Jamie is the teacher is not happy about it.

The first 1/3 of the book i did not like Jamie. he was constantly rude and had this superiority complex that got old fast.

Libby is a single mother to a 4 year old who is putting her self through medical school by any means necessary . (Beg borrow or steal) which by the way is a crack of Shite she literally takes nothing from any one. never asks for help when she desperately needs it and when its offered freely she still gripes about it.

The Trope of making women ashamed of what they do for a living is getting old. most people in this book were great, and saw her stripping for what it actually was. a way to make good money in a short amount of time so that she could still attend school and take care of her daughter. BUT Jamie and his brother were real Wankers about it. like you both found out because you went to the club you paid to be there. how is that any better than her. its not and its hypocritical. they both eventually pulled the sticks out of their asses. which made no sense to me because their parents were lovely people. after the initial BBQ. where their dad did the most dad thing ever.

in the end i really enjoyed the book. it wasn't quite structured like most books. it wasn't some meet and get together and coast for a little of the book say the i love you's and and then have some third act break up that honestly could have been totally avoided. this book from page 1 felt different. the dual POV really helped understand both characters. and the side characters really just made the story even more entertaining. i saw that Millie and Kira each get their own story so im excited for that.

Love everything about this book!

This book wasn’t at all what I was expecting, I am so glad and I loved it more than I could imagine. The story is so good, I love the little girl and the relationships between all of the characters.

quite good and anti-Pretty Woman

this is a story of a proud (maybe too proud) single mother and medical student who finds a way to use her beauty and gymnastics skills to support her family. She's in goals mode, with the only things in mind are raising her daughter, finishing school, and making enough money to accomplish those things. Then some high-brow doctor took an interest and her life slowly explodes. The AH student who she rejected is out for revenge, other people find out what she does for work and slut-shaming commences, and that darn doc is struggling with his hi-brow morals. Although our heroine says that words don't hurt her and she is proud of her work, in reality, she thinks they are right and she should be ashamed. She feels guilty for a lot of things that turn out to be untrue, which is a bit aggravating but works with her character. eventually, with her medical, work, and bio families, there is a great HEA, and it doesn't include a sugar daddy.

my only issue with the story is that the resolution between the heroine and doc's dad never comes. otherwise, it's well written with few explicit sex scenes, well performed, and worth a listen

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

• A full-length contemporary romance of with no cliffhanger and its own HEA? Yes, please.
• A sassy little girl made even better by the narrator? Hilarious.
• Hate, love, despise, adore character relationships? Win.

I definitely recommend giving this book a listen/read 🎧📚

Angsty and delightful!

Libby, smart, hardworking, and proud, a single mother on her way to becoming a doctor, she’ll “Beg, Borrow or Steal” to protect her daughter and secure their future … Jamie, consultant anesthesiologist, medical education director, and at times a shining example of the south end of a northbound horse! Together they are … no spoilers! Grab your headphones, snacks, drinks, tissues, and a tantrum mat … or three… you’ll need them for “Beg, Borrow or Steal”, an angsty, beautifully written, stunningly narrated story that I … could … not … stop … listening … to! The plot was fantastic! Beautifully written, surprising, and not at all predictable. I’m giving no details. Far be it from me to ruin ANY surprises for anyone! Have faith in our author and just listen! The characters, ahh, the characters! Now we come to the absolutely shiniest of shining stars! These brilliantly beautiful, utterly unique, throughly crafted characters are beyond fantastic! I had my favorites, some I was positively fist pumping for, some that had me laughing out loud at their antics, and a few that would have had me wearing stripes, or sporting an ankle monitor should I encounter them in real life! The identities of who, what, where, and when … will remain my closely guarded secret, but believe me, this one, THIS beautiful, DELIGHTFULLY narrated story, is not to be missed! I loved it! Five fabulous stars!
