Beautifully written, inspiring story

This book had so many different facets to it. Shelly went through a lot of really difficult things in her childhood, and her adult life, and the way that she walks us through the story, but does it in such a sensitive way to help us still have hope and to feel inspired, it’s amazing. This is a memoir every adult needs to read. And I loved the narrators performance! This is the first one of her books that I’ve listen to and she is phenomenal. I’m gonna look for more books by this narrator too.

Heartbreaking, shocking and inspiring

This book was so hard to put down. The heartbreak of her family falling apart, the shocking revelation of her childhood experiences and the inspiring fight to stop the blame and break through knowing none of what has happened his her fault. I have not been through half of what Shelly has endured but I feel her words have encouraged me to forgive, let it go. What a great memoir!

A must-read true story!

I did not want to stop reading this. It is almost unbelievable that one person could go through so much, and yet it's a true story! Because Shelly experienced so much, her eventual triumph over her struggles is that much more exquisite.

I think anyone trying to get over just about any type of hardship will identify with and find comfort in Shelly's incredible story. I was often moved to tears and also would yell out in disbelief at certain points in the narrative. I found myself cheering when good prevailed and was deeply grateful for the angels in her life (earthly and other-worldly).

I am an avid reader, and this book is definitely on my favorites list. Not only is the story captivating, but it's also really well written. Beautiful Ashes is a must read!!

Beautiful Ashes a MUST READ

This was the most beautiful book I have ever read. A story of tragedy and how faith can get us through the most difficult times. The narrator was phenomenal. Shelly is the very picture of strength and love. I love you Shelly and am so proud of the woman you turned out to be.

Impactful

This was a great listen! The story coupled with the narrator was impactful! Listening to this was heart wrenching and heart warming. To know that she overcame so much. Throughout the whole story I just wanted to give her a hug and say it will be ok. That you aren’t alone and that you survived. This was a great listen, and highly recommend! But prepare your heart for the pain of her experiences.
