Is the third world war really winding down?
With the recent change in political tide for Russia, the threat of nuclear weapons coming from the Kremlin seems to have dwindled. However, more than one leader in Asia still holds nukes in their possession, and the communist leader of China seems more determined than ever to save face. Is there any way to end this conflict without a full-blown nuclear war?
Despite enormous military losses in Europe and the Russian Far East, the Indian government is determined to stand by the Chinese. When the people learn of the tremendous loss of life in the Battle of Chennai, will there be a rebellion from within? Or will the citizens of India galvanize to defeat the Allies?

With the military cut to a barebones level and American leaders focused solely on the nation's internal struggles, the door will open for new powers to emerge on the world stage. In the wake of this power vacuum, China and Russia begin to flex their military muscles and expand their dominance in the world. They have the most up-to-date technological innovations ready for battle: railguns, unmanned drone tank vehicles, exoskeleton suits, and cyber warfare.

Story
The Communist Chinese leadership decides to move up their timetable to become the world’s sole superpower from 2049 to the present. Part of this is to unify Taiwan by force. They believe the best model for accomplishing their wider goals is to copy the comprehensive moves by Imperial Japan. The CCP/PLA thinks they can replicate the successes of the Japanese, while at the same time eliminating the failures. By means of subterfuge, they strike their East Asian neighbors, Western Pacific sea lanes, and the key American naval bases, relying on advanced missile and drone technology.

Story
He raised an army against those who took everything from him. They should have picked their enemies more carefully. Five centuries from now, on a remarkably Earthlike planet that is mankind's sole colony in space, religious fanatics called the "Salafi Ikhwan" have murdered the uncle of former colonel Patrick Hennessey. That was their first mistake, because uncle was rich and Hennessey was rather a good colonel. But they also murdered Hennessey's wife, Linda, and their three small children, and that was their worst mistake for she was the only restraint Hennessey had ever accepted.

Story
They landed in a dust storm so thick the pilot used dead reckoning and a guess to find the ground. Welcomed by a band of heavily armed militiamen, they climbed a mountain on horseback to meet the most ferocious warlord in Asia. They plotted a war of nineteenth-century maneuvers against a twenty-first-century foe. They trekked through minefields, sometimes past the mangled bodies of local tribesmen who'd shared food with them hours before. The men they helped called them brothers. Hollywood called them the Horse Soldiers. They called themselves Green Berets—Special Forces ODA 595.

As an embedded journalist in Iraq, North got a soldier's-eye view, often while under fire, of what the mainstream media failed to report. A decorated combat veteran, North watched Operation Iraqi Freedom with trained eyes unmatched by other journalists. What he witnessed compelled him to challenge post-war critics of the operation for their uninformed and deceptive views.

Story
At dawn on March 2, 2002, America's first major battle of the 21st century began. Over 200 soldiers of the 101st Airborne and 10th Mountain Division flew into Afghanistan's Shah-i-Kotvalley - and into the mouth of a buzz saw. They were about to pay a bloody price for strategic, high-level miscalculations that underestimated the enemy's strength and willingness to fight.

Story
Special Forces soldiers are daring, seasoned troops from America's heartland, selected in a tough competition and trained in an extraordinary range of skills. They know foreign languages and cultures and unconventional warfare better than any US fighters, and while they prefer to stay out of the limelight, veteran war correspondent Linda Robinson gained access to their closed world. She traveled with them on the frontlines, interviewed them at length on their home bases, and studied their doctrine, methods, and history.

Story
Almost 2.5 million Americans have served in Afghanistan or Iraq since September 11, 2001. C.J. Chivers has reported from both fronts from the beginning, walking side by side with combatants for more than a dozen years. He describes the experience of war today as it is endured by those most at risk - the camaraderie and profound sense of purpose, alongside courage, frustration, and moral confusion mixed with technical precision. In these remote places where the reason for their presence is sometimes not clear, these young men kill or are killed, facing palpable and often constant threat of ambush or hidden bombs....

During the Vietnam War, a “secret war” was fought across the fence in Laos, Cambodia, and North Vietnam, unknown to the media or the public, under the aegis of the Military Assistance Command, Vietnam’s top secret Studies and Observations Group. SOG’s chain of command for missions and after-action reports extended to the White House and the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Tom Clancy would be proud
While Red Storm Rising detailed the possible WWIII of the 80’s, this series tells the possibilities of today. Though written before Russias invasion of Ukraine it almost seems like it was written after the fact given how accurate it is. Much like Clancy these authors really seem to grasp what could happen. Well worth the read.

Another Great Series
This series just like the WW3 series takes you on a rollercoaster ride from thinking the US is doomed to believing we will be the greatest nation on earth for ever. Their knowledge of weapons current and future is amazing. Thanks for writing them.

Very Entertaining Series!
I must first say, I was not very happy with the way this series began, but I could not stop reading it. With all the twists and turns in this series, I had to go on to the next book.
The way this series is written, put’s the reader right there on the front lines. The devastation and counter strikes were riveting. It makes the reader understand what war really is. MADNESS!
A fantastic series. I highly recommending to readers of “What If” type books.

A superb ending to a fascinating series.
I don't know where to properly begin. Rosone and Watson really did an exceptional job wrapping up the Red Storm series. The political drama and battlefield scenes are extremely gripping and the fates our favorite characters will make you joyful and weep. An overall 5 star rating
