About this listen

Geralt of Rivia is on a mission to save his ward, Ciri, and with her the world, in this third novel in the best-selling Witcher series that inspired the Netflix show and video games.

The Wizards Guild has been shattered by a coup and, in the uproar, Geralt was seriously injured. The Witcher is supposed to be a guardian of the innocent, a protector of those in need, a defender against powerful and dangerous monsters that prey on men in dark times.

But now that dark times have fallen upon the world, Geralt is helpless until he has recovered from his injuries.

While war rages across all of the lands, the future of magic is under threat and those sorcerers who survive are determined to protect it. It's an impossible situation in which to find one girl - Ciri, the heiress to the throne of Cintra, has vanished - until a rumour places her in the Niflgaard court, preparing to marry the Emperor.

Injured or not, Geralt has a rescue mission on his hands.

My favourite witcher book so far

The characters are what really does it for me in the Witcher series, and Baptism of Fire introduces the arguably most colourful ones so far (besides the core cast). A fantastic listen

Audio too low

Amazing book, second time through, first as audiobook. Kenny does an excellent performance, but the audio file is insanely low. With volume at the max and headphones I can barely hear.

Weakest of the Witcher books, but still good

This book is the weakest of all Witcher books just because there are too many war storyline, but it's still good!

Allright first experience to audio books

Loved the book. The performance was a little bit weird for me at times, maybe i just didnt imagine some characters sounding like that. But ofc its hard to potray all the characters.

Better than previous books, BUT....

It's better, as the headline suggest, better than the previous Witcher books. Better written/translates; Better story and the performance is top notch, BUT the sound engineering is still poor. Like the two previous books this book is also very quiet. And with alot of whispering in the book it's quite hard to hear. One might think it's my age or somerhing, but no, only these Witcher books has such low volume.
