About this listen

Half-fae Sam never thought she’d live to see the day when she would work with the government running the reservation. But when the National Guard rolls in to stop an underground power struggle from erupting, she quickly becomes embroiled in a web of secrets and lies.

Lieutenant Colonel Gallagher of the National Guard needs a meeting with the elusive fae clan leaders. He has appropriated Sam, with her unique powers, to go between himself and the Clan leaders, even if it costs her her life.

Face-to-face with an actual clan leader, Sam is given an ultimatum - save his poisoned wife to get a meeting with the fae leaders.

Sam’s day just got complicated.

Captivating Series!

This is the third book in The Void Series. The story continues where the last ended. The storyline is suspenseful, entertaining, and fast-paced. I love this captivating Series, and now I can't wait for the next book to know what happens next! Janelle Tedsco did an amazing job with the narration. I enjoyed listening to this audiobook.

SAM IS AMAZING!! BEST ONE YET!!!

This is my fave of the series so far!! Sam is working with the national guard to help them understand the reservations and fae community, stop the struggle of power and also solve the crazy murders that are going on...She is assigned a protection detail and meets Werner..they click and bond to solve this mystery!! I like how Werner accepts Sam for her and how he has such faith in her and I like how Sam refused to abuse her powers...This is a great series!! Good story, narration, and characters..I RECOMMEND!!! I need more asap!! :)

I really enjoy this series

This is a great series
I really like the main character who’s had more than a hard life.

In this one we have a change in love interest in this one, changing from mage to human.

Heaps of action.
Great narration I wish the rest of the series was available on audio. Fingers crossed this happens.

Solid 4 stars

hope this author keeps it up!

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

First of all, I have to applaud the author on making each book longer than the previous one. It goes a long way towards making me feel it is worth a credit. I don't know about other listeners, but I generally go for books that provide me a good amount of listening time. That said, they still have to be good. I have been known to turn off and/or return books with an awful narrator or terrible writing. This series is both written and narrated well. The characters are interesting, the story/plot isn't super deep, but put together well. I'm definitely looking forward to the next book.

Impressive Third Installment in the Series

Balanced Chaos: The Void Series, Book 3 is written by Charissa Dufour. The story picks up shortly after the Fae Massacre of the last book with Sam struggling to heal from her injuries. She has chosen to not use her gift to take from another fae again. She is now living with Jason her Mage mentor when they are attacked. She must again defend herself. After the battle the new government running the reservation the National Guard arrives. Sam ends up working with them to recover the lost Fae relics and broker a meeting between the Fae Clan leaders and Lieutenant Colonel Gallagher of the National Guard.

There is a great deal to hold the listener’s attention in this installment of the series. The intrigue of the clan leaders and the backroom deals to just get the meeting set up. Sam and her martyr complex about using her powers for self-preservation. The knowledge gained about the inner workings of reservation politics and how they corrupt the families. The story is longer than the first two very enjoyable.

The narration is provided by Janelle Tedesco. Ms. Tedesco gave another an amazing performance this audio production. She really brings true passion to these characters. The production quality of this audiobook is also the highest quality. I heard no problems during the entire performance. There were not any detectable flaws that I was able to hear during the entire performance such as loops, breaks, or buzzing. The production was crisp and clear. Charissa Dufour delivered an excellent audiobook production. I highly recommend this audiobook. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

This series does not disappoint

This series just keeps getting better!!!! This has to be my favorite of all the books so far! Time to rearrange everything you thought about the Res and its inhabitants. Sam, the total beast that she is, is still in the thick of things when all goes to heck but the heck in this book is another level. Sam has support, this time in the guise of a hunky national guard corporal, but mostly, it's Sam against the world. And what a world.

I love the narrator and the narration. There were quite a few skirmishes in this listen and the heart-throbbing panic and chaos was well-performed.

This book ended with a great big ole jaw-drop for me. It was such a pendulum swing that I had to sit and think on it for a minute. Book four is going to be wild!!!

Balanced Chaos

You know those books you never want to put down, and if they are a part of a series you just want to binge because they are that good? This is one of those series not joke I forget every time how much I loved this world until I start the next audiobook. The writing is phenomenal it sucks you in and makes you feel a part of this world.

Sam the half-fae who is more powerful than any of them is struggling with who she is. Coming to terms with her powers and accepting it isn’t a separate part of her but just apart of who she is.
Her choice to work with/for the humans isn’t something she takes lightly but something she needs to do. I liked that she doesn’t sugar coat things for anyone and that she is brutally honest. Even if that makes others uncomfortable she is her true self no matter what others think even if they look down on her for it.

Lieutenant Colonel Gallagher assigned Sam a protection detail who is pretty soldier like but you really can’t stay soldier like around her for long like I said she is too honest and you can’t help but be the same around her. Werner doesn’t know a lot about the fae or Sam for that matter but he is a fast learner and what I loved the most is how he just accepts her, I wish she could see what he sees. Because she is awesome and I think he has more than a little crush on her, but the job has to come first.

This story is far from over and as much as I want to keep going with the series I am going to wait for the audiobooks because they are AMAZING, no joke the narrator brings this world to life in a way I don’t think my imagination would. She gives everyone their own voice and once you hear it you picture that character I have only come across a few narrators that can do that in this genre. It is rare and a gift. I want more!
