Publisher's summary

Derek Rosewood is never going to marry - ever again. Fresh off the heels of a bitter divorce, there are only three things he cares about: his daughter, his career, and his bachelorhood.

An attorney by trade and happily married to his job, he saves the drama for the courtroom and keeps women at arm's length. Their fragile, sequined hearts are safer that way. And besides, he's not in any condition to offer them the love and attention they so foolishly seek from him.

It's not until he's assigned as the financial conservator for an aloof, enigmatic heiress that he finds his professional - and personal - boundaries pushed to the wayside. They're all wrong for each other. Emotionally unavailable. Bitter. Jaded. And he's supposed to look out for her best interests. Protect her.

But this wasn't supposed to happen. And for that reason, Derek Rosewood pleads the fifth.

Good One

What did you love best about Bachelor?

Selena... I loved her bluntness

What did you like best about this story?

The flow of it.. It was a lot of nagging...

Which character – as performed by Elizabeth Hart and Nelson Hobbs – was your favorite?

Selena

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

Any additional comments?

Demi pissed me off.. she had no loyalty for her brother.. she's the one who showed him the pictures and told him that Selena was back with her ex.. then she takes Selena side the very next day dissing her brother.. the first thing she says to Selena is what did he do.. right after she just called her brother panicking about what she saw on TV and print..

That was a real a-hole move on Demi's part.... I hate when siblings don't show loyalty..

Eh

I just didn't quite buy into the feelings between these 2 like I did in the first book in the series. Not sure why, but I just wasn't as invested in the relationship because I don't think it was developed throughout the story like it could have been.

Loved it!

I was so glad that Derek got a happy ending in his story! The story of an heiress and her attorney, a jaded man and woman who are afraid to fall in love was entertaining and romantic. The narration was excellent!

Weak heroin but okay story

This is not my first story from this author. I didn’t care for weak heroin but the narrators kept me listening. They were the reason I chose this story and they did not disappoint me. Unfortunately, the story was not as interested as her other work. It’s still okay for one time listen.

The Lawyer and Heiress ~ Drama, Angst, & Steamy...

Bachelor is the second story I've listened to by Winter Renshaw and I'm quickly becoming a fan and looking forward to listening to more stories by Renshaw. While it's the second book in the Rixton Falls series, it really can be listened as a stand alone. I enjoyed the story, and characters, but felt the plot was fairly predictable, and Derek and Serena fought their attraction too much (mostly Derek).

Some Spoilers:
Derek is a divorced single father who's focus becomes his career and daughter. Due to his cheating ex-wife, he's developed trust issues, and is unable to commit and only has one night stands. When he's called in to be the conservator over heiress Serena Randall's finances, she will have him questioning if he can ever trust someone enough to let them in.

Serena Randall's has been deemed not mentally stable, and her family files to take over Serena's finances, but instead, the court appoints Derek's law firm to step and evaluate. Derek's first impression of Serena does not jive with the tabloid's gossip, and what was filed at court. The articles say Serena's "lost it" after walking in on her fiancé with two of her best friends, and turned to drugs/alcohol, and goes on wild spending sprees. The court documents state she's tried to kill herself by running her car off a bridge, and her family is concerned about her mental health. However, after meeting Serena he's convinced, she is capable of handling her own finances and believes her when Serena tells him of her suspensions. Since Serena has been kept secluded at Belcourt Manor, she has no other place to go. Derek offers to take her to his place in Rixton Falls for a few days while she searches for a place to live and investigates her suspicions. They quickly start falling for each other, and give into their passions; however, Derek makes it in clear there could never be a relationship, well that's what they keep telling themselves at least.

Elizabeth Hart, and Nelson Hobbs performance was really good! They did a great job on the characters, dialogue, and emotions.

Overall, Bachelor was a great story, with lots of drama, angst, suspense, and some steamy sex. I would rate it between 4 and 5 stars. It's definitely worth a credit, but I used my Kindled Unlimited and added Whispersync! (Love whispersync deals!)

Best book yet!

Omg! I LOVED Royal, but oh my goodness, I ADORED Bachelor! The angst was off the charts and I REALLY enjoyed the suspenseful element added with Serena's case.

I enjoyed the narration more in this book too. Elizabeth Hart and Nelson Hobbs did a fantastic job with their different voices.

Derek: MAN! I KNEW IT!! Ever since his appearances in Royal, I KNEW he had a juicy story. I'm happy to report that I was right! Loved the drama in this book. It wasn't lame or overplayed...it was exactly what the story needed. It kept things VERY interesting without dragging issues.

Serena was an awesome female lead!!! AWESOME. Filthy RICH yet humble and incredibly down to earth. Loved, loved, loved her!

To say I will be checking out Winter Renshaw's other books is an understatement!!! I'm HOOKED on her words! FIVE STARS!

Loved this book

Would you listen to Bachelor again? Why?

Yes. I read the book before I purchased the audiobook and enjoyed the story all over again.

Which character – as performed by Elizabeth Hart and Nelson Hobbs – was your favorite?

I really loved Nelson Hobbs as Derek. This was my second book listening to with him as a narrator and I look forward to listening to more from him. This was my first Elizabeth Hart book. She was a good fit for Serena.

Any additional comments?

This book was really good and it was worth a credit. I would definitely recommend this to others.
