About this listen

Meet Chloe and Elizabeth Yetti: antisocial, semi-homicidal, 18-year-old twins casually surviving the AI apocalypse.

Ten years ago, a powerful machine intelligence unleashed a nano-engineered superdrug on humanity. Civilization is now a collection of mindless addicts confined to automated treatment centers that tower over drone-dominated cityscapes. Having escaped and grown up in the forests of Northern California alongside their younger brother and brilliant scientist/survivalist mother, Clo and El stayed safe while society collapsed around them.

But when a mysterious stranger and a demonic woodland creature appear and threaten their family, the twins are drawn back to a disintegrating, drug-addled San Francisco. There, biomechanical gods and monsters vie for control of what’s left of humanity’s consciousness. Armed with only a knife, an old hunting rifle, and their secret, cryptophasic twin language, Clo and El realize that surviving the apocalypse was just the beginning - now they’ve got to face it head-on.

The first book in the Babylon Twins trilogy, this epic adventure takes listeners on a journey filled with sci-fi spectacle and darkly humorous twists and turns, not to mention some good old-fashioned butt-kicking.

it's a different take on an apocalypse but a good read, it's entertaining and keeps you sucked in. So grab your Sap patch and relax

Great book! Imaginative, funny, and exciting!

Cover art caught my attention. Intrigued by the story line and narrator, so I dove right in. Glad I did! So fun! The details in this book are exceptionally creative! I've never heard anything like it and found myself eager to hear what happens next. The story captures you and has a lot of unexpected turns with pops of funny and meaning. The narrator does a wonderful job of separating the characters too.....Looking forward to the next book in the series!

interesting story, screwed up “heroes”

I particularly liked the part where one of the Twins rapes a guy who was semi conscious, ignores that he started crying right after and makes a laughing point about him escaping through the window to get away from them. Or the part where the other twin falls in love with the first guy she sees, and then decides to take advantage of him while he is on drugs. Lucky for the guy he passes out cause apparently that’s the line that these twins won’t cross to lose their virginity.

The story was interesting and unique in a lot of ways. The protagonists were mostly eye rolling and belligerent. I highly doubt I will read this author again.
