About this listen

Love was the last thing on Kyle Stader's mind. He'd found and lost that once and he wasn't about to ever let himself feel that kind of hurt again. So, when Liz Redgate shows up in Cotton Creek, he might find himself interested, but it darn sure isn't going to go anywhere except maybe the bedroom.

Liz is an enigma. A woman who can handle a thoroughbred race horse better than half a dozen experienced jockeys, and one who is keeping secrets. Like why that thoroughbred horse won't run for anyone but her. Those secrets may make her more appealing but also make her dangerous.

Unfortunately, Kyle's no novice to danger, and is a sucker for a mystery. Things are about to get interesting again in Cotton Creek.

Enjoyable

This third book in the Honky Tonk Angels Series was enjoyable and entertaining. I really liked the relationship Liz had with the horses and how much she cared for them. There was enough intrigue and romance in the story to keep you interested from beginning to end. J. Scott Bennett is always enjoyable to listen to. His voices for all the characters bring the story to life and make the listening experience a delight. I received a free copy of this audiobook and have voluntarily provided an unbiased review.

If You Need A Lover And A Friend; Baby I'm In

"Baby I'm In" was an awesome listen. I love this series and the author, Ciana Stone. She writes a good storyline with great characters and picturesque settings. This was almost like a mash-up of Rodeo Girls and Dallas which I really enjoyed. The drama was there. The romance was there. The likeable characters as well as the sinister character(s) were also present.

Liz and Kyle were characters that I liked a lot. They had good back stories and their current situation was pretty intense with the upcoming Endurance race as well as the oil drilling. I also loved Liz's way with horses. Liz' dad reminded me of JR Ewing. Such a nefarious old so and so. But he still played a good role in the story. All the supporting characters were good too.

I've listened to two books in the series; books two and three and I may check out the first one now. I hope the author keeps writing these. Love 'em.

The narration was outstanding. J. Scott Bennett has amazing vocal skills. He did such an excellent job with the character's voices. I'm so impressed with his work. Just Wow. He gave them all their own voice and maintained them throughout the entire story. He took a good book over the top to great.

My favorite so far!

I'm now wishing the books in this series were a little longer! I loved the main characters in this one! I do wish you learned the back stories a little earlier in the book, it seems like when you find out about tragic moments so late in the story, you don't grow as close to the character as if you found out early why they are the way they are. It is a great story, though. Plenty of intrigue, romance and cowboys! Again, this is a stand alone story, no dreaded cliffhangers, and all my favorites from previous books are back in this one. The narrator does a wonderful job as well! Looking forward to the next one! I received this book free or at a reduced price in exchange for an honest review.

Love this series

What a great audio, it is filled with so much emotion, a women trying to be her own women and a father that will do whatever it takes to control her and her brother. I found this to be charming, heart breaking and funny. I thought the author gave a thrilling ride with a touch supernatural that really touches your heart. Joe is such a touching person who watches over so many, I loved the twists and turns, filled with damage that will not only keep you guessing, loved the mystery. I loved the plot, the characters seem to real, I just love this town and the people in it.

The narrator did a wonderful job with his character voices, the passion he gives them, through him you see right into their souls. He gives true passion to their pain, love and sorrow. His male and female voices are lovely as they pull you in and you become part of the story. There are no repeating of words, no background and no volume changes. You always know who is talking and what they are feeling. I love how he puts his voice into it making you feel the danger and passion. He has become one of my favorite narrators. I always know when I see his name I am in for a wonderful meaning ride that I will truly enjoy.

I have totally enjoy this author's style, love the touch of supernatural and how she draws you in, and you become a believer. The author and narrator blend so well, she puts you soul into her writing and he lets her fly as he brings to life the wonderful tale of a small town. I can't wait to start the next one in this series.

Baby I'm In: Honky Tonk Angels, Book 3

“This audiobook was given by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom.”

Book 3 of the "Honkey Tonk Angels" series. These books keep getting better as they go on. I love the interaction between all the characters. We get a bit of drama, mystery, family feuding, and best of all romance. I am hoping for more books in this series.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed, very lifelike.

Good story

The series continues with shy and handsome Kyle meeting potential jockey Liz. Conflict in story was a little weak but Ciana did a good job of making it believable. I also enjoyed seeing more characters being introduced which could hopefully produce more books in series. looking forward to next in line. Narration is great.

I'm In!

This series is a diamond in the rough if you enjoy a cowboy story with good drama. I didn't read the first two books in this series and I'm sure you don't have to because this was a complete book. It is a engaging story with a bit of mystery thrown in.

J. Scott Bennett did a great job narrating. He has that "cowboy" voice that is perfect for this series.

Oh, and for the readers who want to know....there are some sexual encounters and adult language.

I would like to thank the author, narrator, or publisher for providing me this audiobook at no cost in exchange for my unbiased review courtesy of Audiobookboom.

Sweet Listen

This complete story with no cliffhanger is Book 3 in the Honky Tonk Angels series. It's a modern-day romance which takes place in a rural, horse ranching and racing setting. Characters lives interlace, and the books seem to be in chronological order, but they can be read as standalone novels. Story-wise, this was a good one. I like the people in the town and the interaction between them all. It's a quick, easy listen that pulls you right into the story and gives good drama and romance but then lets you go with a friendly wave and doesn't leave you feeling weighed down or emotionally drained.

J. Scott Bennett is the right narrator for this series. He captures the spirit of the story and voices the characters perfectly and with consistency. He also (I cannot express how much I appreciate this) pronounces words correctly, enunciates clearly and speaks with a steady volume and natural cadence. He's awesome. Change of pace romance

I don't listen or read western romances often but did enjoy this laid back romance. Well, laid back in the beginning because it ended up a suspense as the romance took a back seat to action 3/4 of the way into the book.
The narrator did add to the story because of his scratchy "cowboy" voice and I was able to immerse myself in it.

Looking forward to more by this author

I really enjoyed this book. This is the third book in the series, but I had not read the two previous books. I think the book pretty well stands alone, except maybe for the "angel" part, which may have been explained more in other books. I'm definitely looking forward to reading the other books in this series. I would consider this a modern western romance, but the romance aspect is fairly clean, which I appreciate. I listened to the Audible audio version, narrated by J. Scott Bennett. I really can't say enough good things about the narrator, as he has become one of my favorites. He has a very distinctive voice, utilizes good character differentiation, his female voices sound effortless and pleasant to the ear (so many other male narrators have a whiny quality to their female characters). Overall, a fun read, especially if you like modern westerns, ranches, horses, etc.
