About this listen

Some people deserve love – that good kind. A love that experiences difficulties, yet never waivers.

Ship has had enough traumatic experiences to last a lifetime. However, he still pushes through like the real one he is. Learning that his daughter isn’t actually his, he’s devastated and feels hopeless. Not to mention, Ship has no mama or daddy – just his best friends.

Figuring it’ll be good for him, his bros encourage him to take advantage of his newfound fame and appear on the dating show Smoke with Me. Ship is presented with a flock of women; but he can only choose one to smoke with him. Drawn to one contestant like a moth to a flame, he’s ready to pick her – despite her being a walking red flag.

Nevada works in a barbershop and has a kid, meaning she has a baby father. Those are three strikes against her already, yet she hasn’t struck out. On she and Ship’s first date, he takes her to a bowling alley – where the vibes are vibing and the chemistry is unmatched.

Having more than enough in common, the two are ready to dive headfirst into a healthy relationship. Nevada is ready for the long haul; however, Ship’s so-called baby mother isn’t having it. With his back against the wall, Ship has a choice to make. Does he choose the love he’s always dreamed of or the daughter that isn’t really his?

This audiobook was really good. I liked how it wasn't your typical dope boy falls for a girl romance; however, Ship was still about that action. I made the mistake of listening to this book before listening to Pretty Robots so I would advise listening to that audiobook first because I was a little lost in the beginning. I'm usually okay with AI narration but this narration was horrible. I'm glad I pushed through because it was a dope read. Looking forward to reading her other books.
