Young nurse Aggie Burnside and her doctor boyfriend are asked for a holiday weekend in a remote mansion in Vermont to calm the nerves of the threatened owner. But their hostess, a wealthy widow and renowned romance writer, has other plans for her guests. With a series of games, she hopes to reveal who is out to kill her, but to everyone’s shock, someone else dies first.

Aggie is hired to be a private nurse to an ailing millionaire’s wife. But that's not who dies.
The couple is ensconced in a mansion in the small town to evade their enemies in the City. As Christmas approaches, everyone’s peace is shattered by a death at the big house. It isn’t anyone who was expected to die, and it certainly wasn’t from natural causes. There are plenty of suspects including former business associates and ex-wives who seek money or revenge.
