How underestimated and under appreciated some countries view dogs.

I loved the whole story. I’m glad the author was so attuned to the wonderful qualities and the deep needs of Arthur. Too few of us are willing to give dogs that opportunity to develop a deep bond with us, which benefits both dog and human.

Kindness

Absolutely the most heartwarming book I have ever read. A lovely family book to read together, many tears of joy were shed wile this story unfolded. Loved it, I feel sure everyone young, old & in between will share my sentiments.

A Man, a Dog, and Timeless Bond

I have had 4 dogs in my life, from paperboy to being a caregiver for my wife. Each dog has expressed unconditional love in my life adventures and this book tells the love story that humans have with their animal family members.

A beautiful story of a man and the dog he saves

I watched the movie that was recently made about this, not realizing it was based on a true story. After listening to the book, I can truthfully say that the movie did not do the story justice. This is a wonderful story and any animal lover should take the time to listen to it. You will laugh, you will cry, and you will find yourself subtly saying under your breath "awww".

Great story

As an adventure racer and as an Ecuadorian, I found the story heart warming and marvelous. It shows the harsh realities of stray dogs and the different culturas and mindsets you find amongst mankind. Thank you Mikel for sharing your story.

Little hard to follow at the beginning with the writer jumping back and forth but when he launched into the actual story it was great

I really enjoyed the book. I love animals. it had on the edge of your seat moments as well as smiles and tears.

Rescues Rock

The entire story sings to me. I followed this when it happened and ever since. I just lost my rescued buddy after 14 years and felt every emotion that was described in the book. Our trust for each other was complete. The book articulated this so much better than I ever could.
