Cute story

I really enjoyed this story. Very simple. But I don’t care for the narrator. I’ve always thought he sounds like a 65-70 yr old man. Really hard when the boy is 24-30 years old. So I wish KJ Charles would use a younger man. The story was very predictable but cute.

Excellent storyline, very good performance

KJ Charles never disappoints. Cornell Collins can take some getting used to but he voices the range of characters with precision and depth.

Complete in itself, good twists and turns, over the top in ways I enjoy. Narration was expertly done as usual.

A sexy tale of intrigue

Excellent reading by Cornell Collins who captures the characters and spirit of the story marvelously. The writing, as expected, is perfect. There are lots of sexy scenes, and just enough plot, character and relationship building. KJ Charles always seems to strike a nice balance, whith this one being on the spicier side.

A Gem of a Novel

Well woven plot. KJ has loyalty to C Collin, but his narration of characters in their 20s is more tone deaf than… I don’t know; he sounds 70 doing a 25 year old’s voice. I appreciate loyalty, but seriously?

Another masterpiece of storytelling by KJ Charles

There are very few titles I buy without reading the reviews and certainly fewer that I pre-order, KJ Charles is the exception and so far I have never been let down by her work. This type of story is not everyone's cup of tea, but for those who enjoy a regency feel with an M/M romance it doesn't get better than this!

Another reason this audio story is amazing is because of the narration. Cornell Collins is FABULOUS. He does characters' voices with such a dramatic flair, I am always captivated by his performances. He does women's voice well, does each character with unique expressions and I never have to think about whom is speaking.

A final note--if you have not read or listened to her other books set in a similar time period (not the Magpie ones) like Society of Gentlemen and Sins of the City series I would start with those first. They are not dependent upon one another to know or enjoy the stories but reading or (even better) listening to those stories first makes this one feel much richer and familiar,

Loved It. Can't decide who I'd rather cuddle.

I find it always a good sign when I can't decide which romantic lead I'd rather snuggle up with.This author brings creativity into the bedroom but doesn't loose the story line. This is the first book I have read from her and she knows her way around a good gay sex fantasy. The romance is sweet. The plot interesting and the characters are relatable.

Good story with plenty of steam

This is definitely a hot book. If this wasnt a single pov I would have given it 5 stars.
