About this listen

After a long winter in the remote Teton Mountains, Anna Porter is convinced that she's not cut out for wilderness living. Her heart yearns for a place where she'll feel at home, and she's ready to continue the journey she started a year ago along the Oregon Trail. Without an escort, she may be forced to marry a stranger out of necessity, until the least likely man agrees to accompany her.

Ethan Wilder has spent the last 12 years living with guilt and painful memories. Determined to prevent anyone from getting through his angry exterior, he remains distant and callous, even with those closest to him. When a series of mishaps brings him in close contact with the quiet woman who has spent the winter on his homestead, he believes the only way to get her out of his thoughts is to take her as far away as possible.

The best laid plans don't always work out as expected, as Ethan and Anna soon discover. Traveling to a new land brings two hurt and lonely people together in the most unexpected way. If Anna can chisel through the granite wall Ethan has built around his heart, home might be closer than she ever imagined.

They just get better and better!

Anna was planning to travel with her friend Cora and family to Oregon, but when they ran into trouble, Cora found her true love and Anna was stuck in the wilds of the Teton mountains. Now part of this new family and yet still feeling alone, Anna decides to continue on to start her own life along with getting away from the eldest brother, Ethan Wilder who only shows contempt and anger in her presence.

Ethan is the eldest Wilder brother and he is not all that happy that his once fairly solitary life has now been changed by a bunch of women and a little boy when his younger brother marries and brings his new bride's family with him. The demons of his past keep him from engaging with anyone but his brothers. That is until he starts to see Anna as much more than one of those "pesky”, invading women. But can he forget his failures of the past so that he has a chance for a better future?

I love Peggy's books! Anna's Heart just continues the genius of Peggy's writing! This second book also brilliantly binds Peggy's 3 series together in common characters from her two other series Yellowstone Romance and Teton Romance while allowing the book to read as a stand-alone one too.

The more books Cody Roberts performs, the better he gets! Cody brings a smooth style as well as captures the characters in a wonderful and believable way. To me, Cody is the voice of these three wonderful series!

5Stars for both Peggy L Henderson and Cody Roberts

This book was hard to put down when I read it but listening to Cody Roberts narrating Peggy L Henderson's books makes it impossible to stop listening. The story of Ethan and Anna continues after the book "Cora's Pride". Make sure you read or listen to that book first to understand the nuances of the stories. The imagery Peggy gives us in her stories makes the reader feel like you are on the trail. The Wilderness Brides series is a must read...umm, must listen.

Cody does it AGAIN!

Cody Roberts does an amazing job with Peggy L Henderson's books! I listen to them at 1.25 (slightly sped up), and I can't get enough of his voice doing her books!

"Anna's Heart" did not disappoint. People who don't like these books because they are "predictable" or "use the same plot with different names" are dead wrong! There are always twists and turns in Peggy's well researched books! As I've said over and over with her books, I truly appreciate that she's researched her books and they are believable and historically accurate!

This book made me laugh in several places -- we all know that "Miss Know-it-all" and this one didn't disappoint! Anna and Ethan's story was enhanced with the other "characters" on the wagon train!

On to book 3...

Another reason to love Peggy L Henderson

Ethan's and Anna's love story is a wonderful listen. Cody Roberts' narration is spot on as usual.

Anna's Heart is great!

Mrs. Henderson did it again! Her stories never fail to be very interesting and captivating. Cody Roberts always does great with the narration. Anna has a wonderful personality and just wants to start her life going on the right track, finally. She waited long enough, now it is time to leave. Will she make it to her destination or will something happen on the trail to prevent her happiness?
I highly recommend this book!

Love Ethan and Anna's story

What a great story that finally made Ethan human! Of course Cody Robert's narration always makes Ms. Henderson's books a very easy listen. Always nice to have visits from other book characters also. Looking forward to book 3.

Anna's Heart: Wilderness Brides, Book 2

Another stellar story by Peggy. I had no idea how Anna and Ethan, two emotionally scarred individuals, would find peace and love but I was excited to find out. Their story certainly took some interesting turns.

I absolutely love it when Peggy has her characters cross over from other series'. Having both beloved and hated characters visit gave this story added dimensions and also made me want to immediately go and listen to the other series' again. The dilemma is that I don't know which one because they are all so good!

Cody Roberts did a fabulous job bringing the characters to life. I actually got hiccups because of his portrayal of one woman who was a real freight train!!!

Heartwarming

I enjoyed this book from the beginning. Now I'm on to the next book in the series. I enjoy the connection to the Yellowstone series these books offer. As always Cody did an amazing performance.

I love Oregon trail stories!

First of all let me say that I had read the first part of this book already (text version) but WOW did Cody Roberts really bring it alive!! He is phenomenal, especially for a western romance. Much better than the voice in my head!

At first maybe you don't like Ethan, or think Anna is weak. Even she thinks that about herself. After a series of mishaps and embarrassing situations, Anna wants to leave. She knows she's missing something, but what? In the valley, despite being with her friends who are as good as family to her, she is lonely. Well... rude, rotten Ethan is tasked with getting her out of there and to a wagon train heading west. I think you know where this is going, but I won't spoil it. It's not just a simple love story, and you will completely change your minds about the characters by the end. There is even some adventure!

Have you read Peggy Henderson's Teton Romance series? (get the audio books!) If so, you will find a little surprise in this book! A question answered, perhaps.

Special guests from other series as well!
