About this listen

My name is Quinn and in one night my life changed forever. I lost not only part of my family, but also a huge part of who I was. Struggling to make it through each dark day, uncertain of everything in my life, I’m barely living just existing until a professional suggests I start writing down my thoughts in a journal.

My journals help me muddle through the personal and emotional baggage. Allow me to manage the past with all my Anguish; to function in the present plotting Vengeance; and to hope for my Awakening to a future full of all my dreams for a better life.

That is, until my past comes full force into my present and threatens my future. And the only person who can help me is someone from my past. The same person who has been around in the shadows protecting me, even when I didn’t know he was there, apparently has always had my back.

awesome story

I loved this book's audio. This is an author that has continued to impress me with her writing skills and attention to details. This book is no different. I loved listening to this book. The reader had lots of emotion in their voice. I had no problems listening or imagining being with the characters. It was easy, fun and entertaining to listen to. I don’t normally listen to books but I would go back for more from this one. The reader brought the characters to life and pulled me into the story from the beginning. I highly recommend this book.

Anguish by D.M. Earl

ANGUISH (THE JOURNALS TRILOGY BOOK ONE) AUDIO BOOK by D.M. EARL was such an emotional listen. I was warned but was not ready for how deep it would hurt to listen to all that Quinn went through. The story was well organized and I could feel the emotions in every chapter. I felt like the pacing and dialogue moved the story along well and I did not feel lost. I could easily have finished it one day if the subject matter did not make me have to take a break. I got super invested and found myself reacting as Ivy did in the book.

Struggle is real!

Anguish
The Journals Trilogy
Book 1
AUDIO BOOK
By D.M. Earl
☆☆☆☆☆
What a start to a suspenseful romance.
Quinn has a story to tell. But the best way for her to tell her story, was to start a journal. While she has a lot to tell, it is best written down. In one horrific event, her whole life changed. I have to say not in a good way. This is her struggle. She is stronger than even she believes. With the help of the one person who has been in the shadows, watching over ber. Will Quinn take her lifeback?

D.M. Earl is a new author for me. Where have I been? This story is so believable, you will have no choice to keep reading. This book will suck you in on the first page, and leave you wanting more on the last page. I love the characters in this story. Quinn is such a strong and brave woman. Her journals, her struggles, her life! I am looking forward to reading book 2 in this trilogy. Well done D.M. Earl! Well done!

Just like 4 years ago this book still hits the mar

This is the review I left when I first read the book back in 2017
**********************************************************HOOKED FROM THE START.
This book held me captive from start to finish. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone.
It's been a while since I've been so emotionally invested in a book. Quinn is a brave woman and the traumatic event that she went thru still gives me nightmares.
The way D.M. Earl paints the picture of that event with her words made me feel like I was there like Stone watching in horror.
Stone is the perfect protector. But I must say I started out not really liking him because I felt he could have done more to help Quinn. But in the end I fell in love with his character aswell.

I also love the fact that this book is written from Quinn and Stone's point of view. Nice to get both of there perspectives.

This is not for the faint hearted. But I would read it again and again and again.
**********************************************************

So when I saw that it was available on audiobook I just HAD to get it.
What a completely different experience it is to hear this AMAZING book come to life in audio. Nya Simpson did an superb job with the narration.

Wow!

Oh my.... I don't know where to start. The prologue sucked me in with a few questions. Who is the "him" that was involved in the "it" and what the heck happened to this poor girl.

Clearly Quinn has some issues as a result of some horrific event from her past. She seems to be barely coping but at the same time moving forward with life the best she can. This strong woman is making something of herself at the bakery. When things slowly start coming to light and she is shares her horrible story my heart hurt for this lovely you woman.

Stone has hidden in the background watching for so long but now he is pressed to show his presence. Since that night he has vowed to take care of Quinn and keep her safe. How will he explain to her all that has happened. Will she believe him? Will she accept his help and work with him to get her revenge.

Even throughout the seriousness of the issues that come to light in this book thee is an underlying sexual tension you can practically feel. When that tension releases it is going to be hot as hell.

I can not believe it ended there... I need Vengeance N O W, please.

D.M. does a great job of catching your interest quickly in this story. There is that constant need to keep reading because there is something more to be discovered. Her characters seem genuine and they draw you in like old friends.

Wow!!

This is the first book in The Journals Trilogy. This audio book is just under 2 hours. This story follows Quinn, who has just about lost everything and everyone, and Stone, who protects her from a distance. She remembers his eyes from that fateful night and now, a decade later, she sees those eyes again. Danger is lurking around the corner. She has been writing everything in journals to help her cope, and with those journals and the person attached to those green eyes, she just might survive again.

Dark and moody

D.M. is slowly becoming one of my favorite authors , although this book broke my heart in certain parts it's dark and with each chapter there's a new twist. I listened to the whole book in one sitting I highly recommend it .

Moving

This book is riveting and full of emotion and the narration just took it to a very stirring level. The emotions are tangible and bigger than the book and just completely overwhelmed me. The narrator did a good job conveying the intent of the author’s work. Well done.

Anguish - Dark and Brilliant

Anguish by D.M. Earl
Narrated by Nya Simpson
Five Stars

Anguish is the first book in The Journals Trilogy by D.M. Earl. This is the first book I have read/listened to by this author. I have to say this book surprised me. It wasn’t what I was expecting when I stated listening. It was a roller coaster of a ride from the very beginning and it never stopped. Quinn is such a strong woman who suffered greatly. There are some explicit scenes in this book that could be triggers. I listened to this book in one sitting because I just had to know how it ends, but that just left me wanting more. So I will be listening to Vengeance in the near future.
This book was narrated by Nya Simpson and this is the first narration I have listened to by her. Her voice was mellow and easy to listen to. She really brought the characters to life. I look forward to listening to many more books by her.
