About this listen

Raheiran Special Forces captain Gillaine Davré has just woken up in some unknown space way station, wondering where the last 300 years have gone. The last thing she remembers is her ship being attacked. Now it seems that while she was time traveling, she was ordained a goddess....

Gillaine's only hope of survival rests with dangerously seductive Admiral Mack Makarian, who suspects her of being a smuggler - or worse. But he can't begin to imagine the full extent of it. For Gillaine is now Lady Kiasidira, holy icon to countless believers, including Mack, a man who inspires feelings in her that are far from saintly. But when their flirtation is interrupted by a treacherous enemy from the past, Gillaine's secret - and secret desires - could destroy them both.

One of My Go To's in Audiobooks

Gillaine 'Gilly' Davre has just woken up in a strange spaceport's sickbay and doesn't know how she got there. That doesn't disturb her though, she's been on enough pub crawls that waking up after a black out isn't a strange and frightening experience anymore, but the fact that it is roughly three hundred years later then the day she last remembered does throw her for a loop. Kiasadiras like Gilly are powerful, but she knows better then anyone that they aren't immortal. But that's okay, Gilly's situation is strange but she knows what she has to do. Fix her ship without anyone noticing her and get back home; simple enough. Do it under the eye of the newly instated and very handsome Admiral of the fifth fleet; not a problem. Fix her ship and leave while undercover while being scrutinized by the Admiral and at the same time save the Kalar from an ancient alien threat she had thought she had beaten three hundred years ago? Not so easy. The fact that the Kalar now view her as a Goddess is only the icing on the proverbial cake.
I've been a customer of Audible for a few years now, and as a result have a massive library of audiobooks. For me, though, an Accidental Goddess always stands out and has become my 'Go To' audiobook whenever I need it. Not because the story does anything new and daring, or the narrator's voice is outstanding. My feelings for the book is a lot like the feeling a person might have for a favorite movie or restaurant, something familiar and comfortable that never gets old no matter how many times you go back to it.

loooong

this was a very interesting story, but in the long run it was way too long it shouldn't have taken this long for such development to happen. I also wish there were more romantic scenes, it felt very robotic, cold, and dry.

Great si-fi not a good romance

The romance tag is very misleading I was enjoying the story so I kept listening. I really like the story but wish it world have been kept out of the romance category.

So wish this was a series! Loved it!

I really enjoyed this book and the unique story, characters and magic. I would so love more books in this world of Magic and space and with the same Narrator.

I passed on this book several times and now wished I hadn’t. I love it. The writing, the characters, the narrator. Worth a listen for sure!

Great world building!!

No info dump at the beginning. The story and world evolved and grew as the story progressed. Gilly was a great character and her journey through this future she finds herself in was a great listen. Action, mystery, romance all in a scifi fantasy.

Engaging and refreshingly different

So nice to hear a different type of romance. The characters are good and the story is intricate. The reader does a lovely job. I was thoroughly engaged and went back several times when I'd been distracted by my daughter.

Interesting take on Sci-fi Romance

I've read a few sci-fi romance that just ended up being alien men that were just like human men but bigger. This was not that. All the characters were human, (I think) but it was more like if the human race spread out over the next 5000 years and how different cultures would come from that. I wasn't really expecting the magic elements although they didn't detract from the book.

I really enjoyed it. The romance was slow. This wasn't your typical erotica porn. I liked it that way for the most part. While there was an instant connection between the two it wasn't unrealistic soulmates and undying love at first sight. It felt a little more real and was given time to progress and make you want to see them get together.
I thought the plot was interesting. Waking up centuries after an epic space battle to discover the people you saved thought you were a god. Interesting.

Wanted to finish in 1 sitting!

What made the experience of listening to An Accidental Goddess the most enjoyable?

The story kept me wanting to listen until the end. It was a little different from other SciFi-Romance books I've read.

What did you like best about this story?

The characters were well written, no love triangles (which if not written well, are annoying), and no boring areas.

What does Amy Landon bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narration was excellent! You could easily distinguish each character and their personalities. I would definitely look for other books read by Amy Landon.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Definitely! I listened in my car on the way to work & back home. Too bad work & sleep get in the way.

Any additional comments?

Looking forward to other installments.
