This was the first time I listen to her book. This Book was Good. The narration was OK. Will listen to more of her books.

Kind of the epitome of all things you'd ever want in a romance novel. Twins, a royal guy. Yeah it can be annoying at times but really, if you're a romantic, you'll love it. Worth listening to just once for the story at the least.

Enchanting story.

She only wanted a child. Not a relationship with a man. But when she goes through AI (artificial insemination) she gets more than she bargains for. She is now pregnant with the hero to the throne. And the father is not going to ignore that. What happens next is the story line. I have read it several times. Have it in paperback and e-book. The narration was good. It was just that having read it several times the narration was better than the story.

I loved how the main characters seem to fit right in with each other... I just wish there was a bit more to the story then there was. I can't quite pin what it was, it just felt like it needed something more..I must say the narrator was great though.

Great story! Needed more though

I guess i liked it overall, but the ending is really abrupt. They had a single conversation with his parents where he protected his dead wife(who abandoned him years before she died) over his fiancé by letting his family imply the fmc is a gold digger that purposely got pregnant and the only thing he ever says anytime someone’s makes a comment is “I’m going to marry her”. And then he yells at her for wanting support when he made her go to the doctor that spent an entire appointment flirting with him in front of her and basically called her a slut to het face.

I know this is going to be buried under any positive reviews, but I feel like it needed to be said.

Interesting premise, terrible conclusion

Would you try another book from Maisey Yates and/or Laurence Bouvard?

NO I would not spend a second wasting my time.

What could Maisey Yates have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Write a book that doesn't insult me and make me grind my teeth. Make me want to finish the book. I was so disgusted with how she wrote the first few pages setting up a strong female lead that you could understand her firm, deep seated beliefs then in a page turns her into a weak, doubtful and serious lustful women. She follows along like a sheep, bowing to the hero's every command. She makes excuses for every single slight given to her by anyone.

I didn't expect anything more than a cliché, but thought it could be a light listen for a Sunday afternoon. However, it was rather annoying because of the constant repetitions. I got that the protagonists were afraid of a new relationship after one mention. Yet it was repeated again and again. It almost felt like the author had a hard time to come up with a bookworthy amount of words without it. In addition, the protagonists kept me irritated all the way: in the first half it was the heroine then the hero. Besides being irritated, the characters were so shallow, and poorly built that I couldn't manage to connect to them. Could fixing this have been a better bookfilling strategy than the constant reps? Yep. I think so.

Bad style - even for a cliché story

I listen to audiobooks every day in my hour and a half drive to and from work. The only reason I kept listening to this book after the first 2 chapters is because I didn’t want to waste $$. The story took too long to progress and was not really even a romance or feel good story. The ending was predictable and honestly I felt like I was listening to my grandmother‘s romance paperback.

Nope. Don’t do it
