About this listen

When it comes to getting what he wants, Asher Barrington is a hammer who is known for crushing his opponents. From the moment Emily walks into his office and challenges him, winning takes on a whole new meaning.

The only thing standing between Emily Harris and her goal to open a museum for the blind is an arrogant, sexy-as-hell billionaire, who thinks sleeping with her will not complicate the situation. He won't change. She won't back down. But together they sizzle.

The heroine in this story is weak. She couldn’t seem to make up her mind and stick to her decisions. She lets him walk all over her. So if you like a weak woman this book is for you.

Ugh this story was so frustrating! There was literally no chance for a successful museum as it initially stood. If Emily had half a brain in her head. She would have sized up the situation in the first few chapters and leverage herself a sweet deal. The end!

The protagonist is a narcissist

The naration was great and loved the stong willed characters. Sounds like a great family.

Emily is a poor excuse for a leading woman. She is petty and childish and if not for her BFF, Celeste, she wouldn’t have listen to anyone. Asher is a great man and deserves a stronger woman in his life. He should have dumped her several times over. The narrators voice was wimpy and a little too breathy and worse yet you could hear her swallowing. The internal thoughts were frustrating. Might be better to read vs listen

Storyline had potential but not with these characters

Just the start of the story... I look forward to the next book in this series.

I am a sucker for a romance but the narration of the book is horrible and the story was predictable. I gave it a chance in spite of the reviews as opinions may vary. However, the narration is horrible. I do not know if technology tools would help. The male voices are bad. I gave the overall story a three. I have read romance to escape for many years and I started with Harlequin romances and Barbara Cartland novels. If you have never heard of Barbara Cartland look her up and skim a chapter of one of her books. The female characters in her books are quite similar to Emily in this one. The story line smacks of a 1970's Harlequin. Naive female with high ideals meets rich man. No means yes, breathless, and bam. Rich man has a change of heart due to the love a of a good woman.

Narration is key to a good audible book

I am enjoying the stories but this narrator makes the heroine sound like a 5 year old. I am struggling to listen to them all. Her male voices are good but GUH!!! The female voices!! Horrible!

Better read than listen
