About this listen

This compilation of the complete Alpha Underground Trilogy is chock full of adventure, danger, and romance.

Fen Young is a half-shifter whose inner beast is more mouse than wolf. Home is her castle, the only place she's ever felt safe.

Enter Hunter Green, an uber-alpha strong enough to stop traffic with a single look. He's handsome and enticing and seems like just the ticket to broaden Fen's horizons...until the uber-alpha brushes off his admirer and summarily rejects her from her home pack.

Now treading water in the no-man's land of outpack territory, Fen must confront a missing pack mate, a tantalizing stranger, and a serial killer targeting half-werewolves. Will she be able to shore up her waning power in time to save her friend...and half-breeds everywhere...before it's too late?

Poor Narration distracts from story

I enjoyed other audio titles from this author and was looking forward to this one. Unfortunately Angel Clark's weird narration just ruins it. Her cadence of reading is just so weird. As if she's a news anchor reporting a story. I just got thru book 1 of the 3 and honestly, I can't keep going.
As for the story, it didn't feel as good as the Easterling's other but it could just be the bad narration threw me off. Ugh, just so so bad.

Fantastic Shifter Trilogy

This trilogy tells the story of Fen from the time she was forced to leave her pack to when she makes a pack of her own. Filled with action, suspense, and twists you won't see coming, it is a fantastic listen that will keep your attention throughout. Here are the reviews for each book in the set:

Half Wolf - I love listening to stories after I've read them. The narrator just brings the story to life. Fen is a halfie wolf trying to be the alpha for her pack of other halfies. She's learning as she goes, and struggling with who to trust. Enter Hunter, the wolf responsible for her current predicament. What are his motives, can she trust him? Finding themselves in dangerous situations repeatedly, Fen finds inner strength and learns just what it means to be the Alpha of her pack.

Lone Wolf Dawn - Picks up the story from the previous book with Fen now packless and traveling and helping Hunter with his job. Missing her pack and reluctant to commit her heart to her mate, Fen is faced with yet another dilemma - does she try to reconnect with the mother that abandoned her? Learning a bit more about Hunter's past, the choice is ultimately taken from her when Hunter leaves her to force her hand. But Fen has a gift for finding trouble, and the sleepy little town where her mother now lives is no different. Rogue Bloodlings, the chance of discovery of the shifter secret, police investigating threats against her mother, and emotional upheaval all combine to fill this story with lots of action and emotion. Discoveries, secrets, and twists keep you engaged to the story as Fen's story continues. The narrator is easy to listen to and brings a great voice to Fen and her unconventional pack of misfits.

Wolf Landing - Fen and her pack of misfits and bloodlings have finally found a place to call home. But first they must be accepted as a pack by all the other packs in the region. Complicating things even more is the fact that there is a killer leaving gruesome bodies, the town might outlaw large dogs, and the tribunal has sent an enforcer to live with them in the interim. All this is on top of Fen having issues with controlling her wolf. Fen has come a long way but she still has a few battles left to fight before everyone can get their HEA and things are not as they seem. Lots of action, suspense, and twists keep you engaged with the story as it unfolds. The narrator does a pretty good job giving the characters a voice and bringing this final story in the series to life.

Worth it

I’ve listened to many audiobooks and this one wasn’t too bad. Narrator took some time getting used to but I’m glad I gave it a try because this was a good story and being like 22hrs long I’m happy.

Good story. Not my favorite narrator

I enjoyed the coming of age story. The narrator does not do male voices well. Initially the male lead is described as having a deep rumbly voice. This narration would have benefited from having a male female duo preforming the story.

FEN AND HUNTER - THE ADVENTURE CONTINUES - MORE?!🙏

We meet Fen in the WOLF RAMPANT TRILOGY. Then we get more of Fen's story and learn more about her psyche and motivations in TOUGH AS NAILS (a short story in the THIRTEENTH WOLF anthology).
Hunter's story begins in his book, DARK WOLF ADRIFT. (Both of these stories are great!) Some books I read, and some I listened to, and I enjoyed things about both mediums. I read HALF WOLF, the first book in this series, a couple of months ago, but didn't feel that I knew enough about the characters' back story to understand their motivations as well as I might.. But I really liked them and wanted to get to know them better. So I immersed myself in the above-mentioned books before listening to the AlPHA UNDERGROUND TRILOGY, which I received as an Audible review copy. I would highly recommend starting at the beginning with BLOODLING WOLF (Wolfie's wonderful story) and continuing through the above list, in preparation for this story.
If you are a fan of Ilona Andrews and Patricia Briggs you will understand that to get the most out of a series it is so much more enjoyable to get to know Aimee's characters from the beginning than to start in the middle. Then you will be able to appreciate that Aimee Easterling deserves a place right beside I.A. And P.B.
To introduce you to Fen, you should know that she has some pretty big abandonment issues to deal with. Her Mother is a human who couldn't deal with a werewolf pack. So because Fen lost both of her parents at the age of 9, she treats her wolf as a liability. She has had to be very strong during periods of time on her own, just to survive, and she's barely an adult. So she has a lot to work through during this series to learn to trust herself, her wolf, and Hunter.
A word about the narrater - while she was not among my favorites, she kept reminding me just how young Fen is and I got a whole new take on Fen's motivations that I didn't get from reading HALF WOLF. So I have to say that in capturing the essence of the main character, she did a good job. Perhaps, like Fen , she has some growing to do to become a really good narrater.
Hunter sees Fen's potential and is willing to help her build her confidence and is very patient with her because, by the beginning of this book, he knows she is his true mate. Hunter has left the Navy, where he was a demolitions expert, and is looking for his purpose in life where he can do some good and make a difference. He will have to rethink some of his decisions on this journey in order to grow into the person he wants to be. Hunter also had a brutal childhood, because of being a bloodling wolf and has some abandonment issues of his own to work through.
As always, there is fast paced story telling with a cast of great characters, a lot of whom are experiencing children's and teen's growing pains. At times you'll have to remind yourself of their youth when watching their blunders and antics.
There is a lot of action and twists that you'll never see coming on this enjoyable ride. So rest up before you begin, because unless you are a lot more disciplined than me, you'll find yourself staying up way too late.
I hope this is not the end of the series because I would like to revisit them after they've settled firmly into their roles as adults. I would like to see what the bloodling pups are up to, and for Fen's mom to have an HEA as well as for Gray to have his own story.
Aimee is such a great story teller that she always leaves you satisfied while still wanting more.

Trilogy is very good, Excellent deal too!

I loved the series, though I thought the first 2 books were GREAT but last book kind of lacking. Wish author put more into third book it still was good.
