About this listen

Can anything ever come between true friendship? Look out world, a new group of memorable and fun-loving characters have just entered the scene. Edgar and Jules are two fox cubs who are self-proclaimed best friends for life. Each fox has always been there for the other, through thick and thin. The foxes are growing up fast, and are entering into the fifth grade this year - with each one believing nothing can change this friendship, and everything will always stay the same.

Enter the new kid in town - who happens to be - of all things - a girl! Fifi comes to town, which brings on a whole new set of trials and tribulations. Not only for the entire class - who has never, ever had a brand new student come to town - but for Edgar and Jules as well. Can the friendship between this dynamic duo remain the same with all of the changes that are about to take place - or will this be the year that changes their lives forever?

A funny, charming, heartwarming tale.

Would you listen to All the Little Foxes again? Why?

I would definitely listen to All The Little Foxes again, because it is a story that grabbed at my heart from the very beginning. It set a picture in my mind of this little township, and all of its residents, and in a lot of ways, it reminded me of my younger more carefree days as a child..I can appreciate this story greatly as an adult listener. I think this tale rings well with both children and adults.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the friendship between the two main characters, and I found it hysterically funny when the new kid came to town and one cub saw it is a slight on the friendship when the other cub showed compassion for the new fox in town.the offended cub just goes ballistic on his friend, and comes out with some really good zingers-it's the usual drama you would find in any fifth grade class.

Have you listened to any of Sheri Sheridan’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have never heard of Sheri Sheridan before All the Little Foxes, but I think she did a wonderful job at narrating this story. There was a lot of personality in these characters, and this narrator brought that to life with her delivery.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book made me both laugh and cry, and I am not embarrassed to admit that!. I laughed so hard when one of the lead characters was being unreasonable with his friend, and the things he was saying. I laughed a lot I have to say. And again, the delivery was on the mark, all of the one foxes snarkiness and attitude came through. I cried almost to the point of no return when I heard one particular line from this book. Not to give the plot away, but there is one little girl fox who had a friend, and then parted ways (not by her choice) with this friend, and she was hurt so badly over it-she was crushed. The author really nailed that sentiment with the line that went something like 'Fifi had been mourning for a friendship lost.' I know I can relate to the sadness of that kind of situation, and that one line started me crying so hard, I had to sort of put the audio book aside for a little while, before I could continue on listening.

Any additional comments?

Of course I can't speak for everyone, but this story All The Little Foxes really struck something in me. I found it endearing, sweet, funny, and a little bit sad at the same time. This book will definitely remain in my library. I will be listening again. Bravo to everyone involved in the making of that book.

Terrific, sentimental story.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this audiobook to a friend because it is a nice story about friendship and how hard it is to keep hold of a friendship when there are outside forces shaking things up.

What other book might you compare All the Little Foxes to and why?

I would compare All The Little Foxes to Winnie The Pooh - for the fact is uses animals to tell a story, with things going on throughout Winnie the Pooh that could have happened in human form. I like that the author of All The Little Foxes took the every day goings on with grade school kids, and used foxes to tell this human story.

Which character – as performed by Sheri Sheridan – was your favorite?

While I loved the way Sheri Sheridan made Edgar really 'jump off the page' with his abrasive approach to his friend when he becomes annoyed with him, I would have to say my favorite character, as performed by Sheri is Jules. She portrayed him sounding just as he was written, the sweet, gentle voice of reason.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Look out world, it's Leave It To Beaver meets Wild Kingdom!

Any additional comments?

This was a really nice story. I have this in book form, and was excited to hear it in audio. The audio was done really well, and I liked this story because there are no lulls, or filler spots that sometimes make a story drag on. All The Little Foxes is direct and to the point. Very nice job in writing, and very nice job in book form and audio.
