About this listen

My name is Crispin Alistair Winterbottom, and I'm a British spy....

Or I was until my untimely, dare I say, suspicious demise. Now, I'm a ghost, living my afterlife on what I fondly call Plane Limbo.

But I'm determined to return to the land of the living and while I try and figure out exactly how to do that, I spend my days with the ever delightful ex-witch, Stevie Cartwright, the only person in the world who can hear me, and her charming bat familiar, Belfry.

We've seen some dark days, Stevie and I. Including an unexpected family member attempting to steal all my worldly goods, a vengeful warlock, and plenty of murder. Yet, through it all, we've become great friends and adopted several new friends (alive and dead) along the way.

So when a surprise shows up on our doorstep and claims to belong to me, our safe, happy world is bloody well turned upside down and threatens, to date, the most important relationship in my life!

I liked finally hearing Win’s backstory. The narrator did always get the voices right so I knew who was talking or just thinking, but I enjoyed it just the same.

Different but enjoyed it

Winns story

This book was the best of the series so far. Made me laugh, cry and even swoon a tiny bit. The narration is from his POV and the narrator's talent has grown by leaps and bounds since book 1. Perhaps it is the practice but the telling of the story is very good now. Highly recommend.

Spoilers:
Well this is a surprise! What a gift to leave on the doorstep. Stevie is compelled to help the parents of her current house guest. The mother is a contact from when Win was undercover with an arms dealer. So - spy games that push Win and Arkady to their limits to help Stevie.
Jackson does an ok job of narration.

Dakota Cassidy has crafted a story with an excellent new perspective, as it’s told by Whenn this time around. Hollie Jackson, as always gives a great performance while bringing all to life. I highly recommend this book and series to cozy paranormal fans.

I love this series. I was in tears at the end, lovely ending depicting something I have heard of but never had such a wonderful, beautiful picture of. Thank you, Dakota.

Great stories

A baby is dropped off at their front door and the note says that he is Win’s. Win had never slept with the mother so he racked his brain for any clues in the note. Much suspense and falling in love with the baby ensued. The ending is truly beautiful.

Very Moving and well written
