சரித்திரக் கதையை நான் வெறும் கற்பனைச் சரக்காக விரும்பவில்லை.நிஐ சரித்திரம் ஒன்றின் பரபரப்பான பகுதிக்காக நூலகங்களில் தவம் கிடந்தேன். நானிருக்கிறேன் என்பதுபோல் அகப்பட்டார் புலித்தேவர். தென்றல் சிலிர்க்க மனக்கண்ணின் கொட்டி முழுக்கியது அவர் வசித்த மேற்குத் தொடர்பு மலைப்புரங்கள்.
'ஐனரஞ்சகமான இதழ்களில் சுவாரஸ்யமாகத்தான் கதை சொல்ல முடியும். அனுபவ பூர்வமாக மிக எதார்த்தமாக வாழ்க்கையை வாழ்க்கையாக நல்ல தீர்வுகளோடு காட்டமுடியாது' என்பது இன்று பலரின் நம்பிக்கை.
