It kept me guessing!

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series. Harriet is so courageous and “ahead of her time”. The mystery plot was well developed and really surprised me. Looking forward to more!

The Best Book So Far in this series.

All the characters came together in a complex mystery. Harriet can’t stay out of the hijinks and Robert easily forgives.

Wonderful series

I’m assuming that this is the final book in the series. This series has wonderful and interesting characters, more complex than you see in many mystery series.
I truly enjoyed each of the stories and I look forward to listening to all the books now that it’s complete once again.

Fabulous Characters, Well Paced Mystery

Every character in this series has a distinct voice and each add richness to the overall arc and to this specific plot. The historical setting is at such a fascinating time it’s clear the author wants the complexity of Singapore to shine through even though the plot of this one is firmly among the British administration. The mystery itself whips along. I did guess the villain but they weren’t especially obvious so the conclusion remained quite satisfying. I suspect this may be the last book in this series but I hope not!

Escape to Singapore 1911

I have like all the Harriet Gordon novels and the author continues to build her main characters. They’re all likable. The mystery is truly mysterious. And I like that the bad guys all have their own stories and their own dimensions. They’re not sent out from central casting. Plus without going on and on about it, the author makes Singapore a character in the novel too.

Smiling in Anticipation

You know you really have an emotional connection to the characters when you start to smile and evoke emotional responses just listening to what's happening to them. I enjoyed the whole series. Murder is never good but the development of Harriet and Curand just gets me in this one. I hope this isn't the last we hear of them. I'm smiling in anticipation for the next story.

Not as good as previous books

The plot wasn't as clean and at times didn't make much sense. A few loose ends left as well. Narrator was stiff at first but improved

Agony in Amethyst

This novel, the 5th in this series was just as entertaining as the last 4. Each built on the last and had wonderful characters, plot twists and turns of who done it. The storylines kept evolving with each book so that I couldn’t wait for the next book.

Narration destroys this novel

The narration is so poor that I couldn’t finish this book. Such a disappointment as the story is good.

The Best Yet

All in this very original series are excellent and this is the best - very satisfying. We hope she is hard at work on the next one.
