About this listen

When I arrived at Roseborne College searching for my foster brother, I had no idea what I was in for. In the past few weeks, I've endured torments both physical and emotional. I've looked death in the face. And I've made an unnerving discovery that's left me scrambling to pick up the pieces of the quest I started out on.

But the supernatural beings who run this school haven't conquered me yet. I'll turn the tables on them with my newfound knowledge - and maybe with the help of three temptingly screwed-up guys I never expected to count on.

At least, that's the plan. Everyone in this place is keeping secrets: Me, the guys I might be falling for, and my brother. Secrets big enough to bring us together...or to tear us completely apart. How will I find the strength to continue the fight if it turns out I can't trust anyone - not even myself?

Academy of the Forsaken is the second book in a gothic paranormal trilogy with shades of Beauty and the Beast. If you love snarky heroines, damaged heroes, dark secrets galore, and reverse harem romance with no choosing required, look no further! Just beware: Once you enter Roseborne College, there may be no coming back....

Good book with a strong main character and good supporting characters. The plot flows well and has enough twists and magic to keep you interested.

Even Better than the First Book!

This is the second book in the Cursed Studies Series. This book starts very similar to the first one, except Trix remembers more then she should. The story flows a bit faster than before and we learn so much of what is behind this unusual school. The story sucked me in from the beginning to conclusion.

Narration was excellent and brought the story to life.

Our heroine is one tough girl. Even though she remembers the terrible things going on in this college, she goes back to figure out how to stop the teachers from controlling the students. She learns a lot, although I’m not too sure about her “brother”. I believe there is more to him being there than meets the eye...

I love how the story has picked up speed and the plot is getting thicker. We have seen glimpses of the past and there is a lot more we need to understand to put all the pieces together.

The story wraps up with a major cliffhanger and I’m looking forward to finding out what lays behind this cruel school on book three.

The cycle is discovered but can they break it?

Never have any problem with one of these two narrators, this was no exception. They fit well together too.

After the events of book 1, this book starts with a new cycle, although there seem to be little differences compaired to the previous cycle so now it’s a matter of searching what makes it different. Searching for what Trix and her boys can do or use to break that cycle.
Because leaving her brother is not an option! And by now, it’s about rescuing all the students because there is something way off about Roseborne College.

I loved this installment because the first book I was constantly questioning what was going on there but also a lot about the How? Really intriguing storyline. Fascinating College that no-one in their right mind would even come near if they knew what was going on.
I’m starting to learn that some parts of RH isn’t really my thing, I don’t mind the why choose mentality and such but the steamy parts are either good or too steamy and crowded for me due to the RH.
But still, even with my dislike: this author has made it on my “checking everything this author writes” list because the stories are just way too good to not try her books. Because each and every single one of the books of hers I have read/listened to, I listened to without any problems, there are no plotholes, great thinking, great details, like with this series, even the classes have their meaning.
So in short: for me not liking all aspects of this genre, I sure got hooked from start to finish! I actually scribbled some keywords for this book, so I’ll know later, while reviewing, which aspects belong here and which are from book 1 or 3. And then I immediately started book 3!
So needless to say at this point but I absolutely loved this storyline

Even Darker!!!

Academy of the Forsaken by Eva Chase and narrated by Lidia Dornet and Jason Clarke is the second book in the Cursed Studies series.
I found this book to be even darker and more twisted and I loved it.
Trix, Jensen, Rio and Elias have their work cut out for them with this installment.
Walk into the adventure in one crazy college.
Would I listen to this book again? yes in the daylight
Would I recommend this book to others? yes, with disclaimers
This is an RH, so I would only recommend it to those over 18.
