About this listen

Looking back over the past few months, I never imagined I’d be standing here asking for forgiveness. Wanting her was never in the plans, but when your heart knows, you find yourself needing everything that is her.

I made my way back home broken and lost, refusing to connect to my old life, to who I am. Afraid of what I might find, hating myself for hiding untold truths.

In her arms, I find sanctuary. Her love not only encompasses me, it drives the darkness away and serves as a beacon of hope, my salvation.

When our pasts lives come to light, we’re thrust into the hell we knowingly created. Will Scarlet forgive me for the blood on my hands? Can I show her the mercy she so well deserves?
Only absolution will see us through.

Great Story but a bit unbelievable

I loved this book. The character build up was very believable and you could feel all the heartache the H and h were going through. There was drama, parts that made me laugh out loud, some mystery, I was loving it until the big reveal. the author tried to build it up but it just wasn't believable.

Creed!!!

Emotionally charged, Leaona Luxx treats us to a captivaing story. I love military stories, and we meet Creed when he is on a mission, coming home with no memory of his past. Two years, he spends in therapy, becoming close to the Cole Security team and his therapist Drew. Now taking the plunge, he goes to see his parents in his hometown. Hoping to remember something, we can feel his awkwardness. But he has his therapy dog with him, and he is a calming force. Here he also meets Scarlett, he town vet and he feels an immediate pull towards her. Could he finally be ready to leave he past alone and start his new life? Will this romance take off? Will he ever get his memory back? Luxx masterfully crafts her story, and it includes twists and turns that are completely unexpected. Amnesia is a trope I love, and the way Luxx develops Creed with his colleagues, family and Scarlett lets us feel his frustration and emotional journey of healing. Scarlett is broken, trying to get through her own grief and devasting loss only to have Creed come in to crash through the walls she has built. It's a story that will win your heart, with deception, forgiveness, redemption and love.

Creed's point of view was front and center and Tom Haire gives a remarkable performance. He is believable and lets us feel all the emotions he was going through. Jaelenne Gillaim lets us hear Scarlett's feelings with a voice that is hesitant and vulnerable. I enjoyed their interpretation of Luxx's amazing story.

Romance with a twist

I rarely read romance novels (more of a horror/fantasy fan) but this was a freebie and I wanted to try something different. There was enough of a mystery to get me hooked early. I did’t see the twist coming, though i did figure it out before the male character (haha). Both narrators were fun to listen to and did very well. I recommend this book to anyone - even for those who don’t normally read romance novels.

Loved this touching story!!!

This is another addition to Corinne Michaels' Salvation Society. These books never seem to disappoint. I loved all the characters and the story gripped my heart and wouldn't let go. Creed is troubled and Scarlet is also troubled in different ways. Together are they able to overcome their pasts and fight for each other? Or will they let their pasts control them? This audiobook was fantastic. It drew me in from the beginning and held my attention. The narrators did a great job. I loved how the beginning of the story stuck with Creed, I'm so used to books jumping back and fourth between characters and I thought it was perfect that we really got ot see Creed first! Loved this audiobook!

Absolution

This book was really good and I thoroughly enjoyed it. This was a beautiful story with humor and emotion. It is a shame Creed's service dog hurt her paw while running on the beach but when Creed rushes her to the vet, he meets Scarlett. Tom Haire and Jaelanne Gilliam did a very good job with the narration. I received this free copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
