About this listen

Karl Petry was born with an unusual ability to see and communicate with the dead, see into the past, and touch the troubled hearts of the living. Throughout his life, he has helped people reconnect with loved ones who have passed and resolve their grief. He has also given a voice to the dead who wish to be heard and who have urgent messages and stories to tell. He is the “Absent Witness”.

In his own words, Karl tells the story of his amazing gift, from shocking experiences in childhood to deeply moving experiences in today's times. He has worked with renowned psychics and paranormal researchers, including remote viewer Ingo Swann and New York City psychic Paula Roberts.

Karl shares some of his most interesting cases, such as the soul-eating house, the victims of 9/11, the dead who do not want to be forgotten, and lost souls in a mass pauper's grave. Some of his true stories are amazing, some are heartwarming, and some are funny - and all of them will keep you listening from beginning to end.

AWESOME!

What a gift! Karl Petry is very believable, and hearing his story was very moving.
I am intrigued by his gift, and could only imagine what my life would be like if I had to manage all of this :) Wow!

He is very respectful of his craft, and widely respected by his peers, and I really was fascinated by his story and his gift.

Well written and wonderfully narrated :)

Would definitely recommend it to anyone with a small or large interest in communicating with or learning more about communicating with those who have passed on. Very interesting!

Karl is the genuine article

Having known Karl and worked with him years ago, this book brought back so many good memories. First off, Karl is the real deal. A truly gifted psychic, never looking for fame or fortune, only wanting to help the living cope with grief at the loss of a loved one, or help a spirit move on and find peace. I remember him telling me these stories and actually being involved in others not in this book. I also enjoyed that he goes into what it was like growing up being different with his gift. If you want to know what is like having this ability, and it sometimes feeling like a curse, Karl explains it well. The encounters with the paranormal in this book only touch the surface of what he’s been through or experienced. I can tell you that they are all true and very well documented. Sadly I lost touch with Karl but listening to this book brought back fond memories of being with a person who sees beyond the veil of this world and amazed me daily with his ability.

Fascinating!

I am fascinated by parapsychology and have met with, listened to and watched a few psychics over the years. Some of them I didn't believe at all and some I feel were at least somewhat gifted. I have to admit I have never heard of Karl Petry before listening to this book but now I feel like I know a little about him and his life. I didn't doubt anything I heard here and I really enjoyed how open he is about the difficulties he had growing up being so different. He doesn't glamorize anything or come across in any way like he is full of himself. I love that.
One of my favorite parts of this book is how Mr. Petry mentions ghost hunters and how they often don't respect the dead. I live near a famous haunted house that is open to ghost hunter tours and that was one of the things that struck me when I went. Everything seemed so disrespectful to whoever was still there and to the house itself. I left that house very disappointed with some of the things they did.
Hearing about ghosts, death and all the things Mr. Petry is able to see and hear, from his perspective, was an incredible listen and I'm thankful to have spent my evening with his story. Steve Carlson was very good narrating this book. Also, I do judge part of my interest in a book by it's cover and whoever designed the cover for this book did a great job. I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator.
