About this listen

It's been more than 10 years since the war with the NeHaw ended in an uneasy truce. During that time, Jake Thomas has been relegated from battlefield commander and chief to the role of interstellar bureaucrat. To add to his frustrations, he is now father to a passel of teens and preteens, all with their father's propensity for getting into trouble. However, unexplained violations around the Human/NeHaw Neutral Zone and the mysterious disappearances of people in a remote backwater town in Arizona has everyone, Human and NeHaw alike, pointing fingers and threatening war. As things come to the boiling point, it becomes clear that a powerful third party has entered the game, and it may just require former enemies to unite to overcome their common threat.

an intriguing story.

A great story and read by talented actor that brings what the author wrote to life.

Story advances 10 years from last book

Normally I dislike when subsequent novels unnaturally advance the timeline by many years. I was surprised to find I actually appreciated the time jump here as it brings the listener right into the new action with younger characters now capable of also carrying their own storylines. The overall storyline is maturing and moving in new directions that will be interesting for later books.

Awsome

Its a fun series full of humor and adventure; Very enjoyable. Books 1-2 are probably the best but they flow together very nicely.

New narration is terrible

Continued story is good, but the new narrator makes all the characters sound like rednecks or children. There isn’t much variety and it is very distracting.

Unique Space Opera!

I'm really enjoying this series. Interesting how the AIs are exhibiting personalities and quirks. Great voicing as well. My only wish is for the books to be l-o-n-g-e-r!

in two of the five books you say North Dakota and three you say South Dakota. Which is correct?
