Acerca de esta escucha

A profound and deeply personal collection of essays by renowned psychologist Carl Rogers.

The late Carl Rogers, founder of the humanistic psychology movement and father of client-centered therapy, based his life's work on his fundamental belief in the human potential for growth. A Way of Being was written in the early 1980s, near the end of Carl Rogers's career, and serves as a coda to his classic On Becoming a Person. More philosophical than his earlier writings, it traces his professional and personal development and ends with a prophetic call for a more humane future.

Great review of Carl Rogers views and philosophy and concepts of the person centered approach. I enjoyed listening to it.

This is the best Rogers book! He details his beliefs, pains, wins and loses. This is his most personal book. I’m a graduate student in psychology and whenever professors gloss over Rogers I cringe because his impact on the field of clinical psychology was huge. In this book he talks about the war against the psychiatrist who were trying to ban psychologists from performing psychotherapy , against Skinner and against the bureaucracy of the APA. He also gives hope and his recommendations for the field.

This is an awesome book for the developing psychologist. I enjoyed the short stories and personal anecdotes that further describe the humanistic approach to psychology

This is an awesome book

There are some nice passages in this book, but unfortunately this book is outdated. I wonder how Rogers would of felt about how woke everything got, I guess you could say, he didn't see that one coming. His legacy is empathy and personalization in therapy. He had alot of faith in the human spirit. It's interesting how much he was inside and took part in occult practice as well. I feel like his interactions with mediums and the such are the most authentic account I have heard of.

Lost to time

This was a great book with a lot of depth. I was happy that it was sort of a continuation of the previous audiobook I read from him, client-centered therapy. Great stuff.

Rogers is simply the best

Much bologna!

Most illuminating part of this book is the historical sig of person centered approach in the river of psychology.

It is certainly not based on evidence but on intangible and appealing to myth of humanistic existential nature philosophy.

Sig milestone of psychology with some enduring thoughts but too
